No job you apply for is ever going to be as good as the one you can create. For years, I was a part of other people’s dreams, building other people’s businesses \u2014 until I realized I was worth more. Today, I’m going to encourage you to stop trying to attract jobs and get you to instead begin creating a business plan. That way, you can find the perfect success for you. Let’s get started, yes?<\/p>\n

Creating a Business Plan to Achieve Your Dreams<\/h2>\n

In most people\u2019s minds, work means getting a \u201cjob.\u201d The thing is, I get comments from people all the time who complain about their jobs, or really just frickin\u2019 hate their job. Other times, they’re looking for a better one, or they’re looking for a job that actually allows them to use the skills and passions they want to use, etc.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s like, \u201cI\u2019m sorry, did you confuse me for a recruiter?\u201d I\u2019m not the guy to give advice on how to find a better job. I\u2019m the guy that\u2019s gonna tell you to stop trying to earn a living!<\/p>\n

Stop Settling<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

If you keep trying to earn a living, that\u2019s exactly what you\u2019re going to get! You\u2019ll earn a minimum standard and you\u2019ll never get rich. You\u2019ll never get wealthy.<\/p>\n

What are you waiting for?\u00a0 To “attract your dream job?\u201d That\u2019s so…90\u2019s and 2000\u2019s, folks. Get with it! Don\u2019t \u201cattract\u201d your dream job…frickin\u2019 create it!!! Why not instead of spending all your time looking, you start creating a business plan? Jeez!<\/p>\n

Look, in a climate where you could get yourself into some trouble for telling things like it is, some of this stuff may hit close to home, and that\u2019s okay. I\u2019m not here to judge or belittle anyone, especially when this stuff is so common, where lots of folks are just scraping by to \u201cearn a living.\u201d However, you\u2019re reading this because you want more, because you\u2019ve got something in you that wants to play bigger.<\/p>\n

So play big, and it doesn\u2019t frickin\u2019 matter what it is you do. If you\u2019re a trainer, train! For goodness sake, you don\u2019t need a job for that! You need to have your own business. Your own business could be a contractor for a company if you want, but if you\u2019re a trainer, you don\u2019t need to work for somebody else.<\/p>\n

Creating Your Dream Job<\/h3>\n

How do you know what to train and what your message is? It\u2019s simple. You just need to ask keep two things in mind:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. How can you best help people and solve problems?<\/strong> Come from what they want and what you could help them with.<\/li>\n
  2. Wants versus needs<\/strong>. Does everyone need disaster preparedness? Yes, for sure. Do they want it? No. Nobody cares until something happens. If you want to make money once every decade when disaster hits, fine. Other than that, that\u2019s not what they want to be focusing on. Think about what they want, not just what you want them to have.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Get specific on a specific problem that you can help people with now. Stop beating around the bush. Go for something that\u2019s in demand, not just stuff that you know.<\/p>\n

    Think Bigger<\/h3>\n

    \"\"<\/p>\n

    Stop piddling around with petty cash, everybody. Play bigger. Think bigger. Find people with an audience. Get on stages that have 300, 500 or 1,000 people. Get on those stages. How? Put together a program or a talk. Make sure it\u2019s different. Start with having one thing that really helps people.<\/p>\n

    If you\u2019ve got information, a talk, a seminar, a workshop or just a methodology that can help somebody, put it out there in an organized format. Get in front of a lot of people, teach what you need to teach, tell what you\u2019ve got, and then have them get a hold of you.<\/p>\n

    How do you think I would feel if I walked into a room where there were five or six participants? Not so great. I\u2019d still do the same event, but I\u2019d think to myself, \u201cWhat the hell is wrong here? I don\u2019t want five. I want 500. Actually, I don\u2019t want 500. I want 5,000.\u201d<\/p>\n

    You don\u2019t have to wait to get to that point, either. Whatever you got going now, you should be able to do one thing to double your clients in one week. Get on media. Get in a magazine. Write a frickin\u2019 article. Do something that exposes you.<\/p>\n

    Play bigger and don\u2019t wait!<\/p>\n
