It would be easy to say your blog is for ALL moms, but it would be <b>smarter <\/b>to focus on, let\u2019s say, moms between the ages of 30 and 40 with 2 or fewer kids.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>When you focus on a specific type of person you want to market to, you start to attract those people because they want what you are selling!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b><\/b><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>You can\u2019t stand out from the competition<br \/>\n<\/b>When your business doesn\u2019t have a specific target audience, it can start to look and sound like every other business in that niche, which means you can&#8217;t stand out from competitors.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>You can\u2019t improve your services<\/b><br \/>\nWhen you don\u2019t know your target audience, you can\u2019t understand their needs. It\u2019s almost impossible to anticipate how your clients will feel about your services \u2014 much less improve your products and offerings based on audience perspectives.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">So, now you know it\u2019s super important to identify and intimately know your target audience, right? Let\u2019s get started! But first&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">What is a target audience?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A target audience is a group of people that a company wants to sell its products and services to. If you\u2019re not able to find and understand your target market, you can\u2019t expect to grow your business.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Every niche today is competitive, so to be sure your business stands out from the pack, you have to narrow your focus on a specific group, understand the problems that the group faces, and offer a solution.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Without a properly defined target audience, you risk spending money on <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.harveker.com\/blog\/marketing-key-to-business-success\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">marketing campaigns<\/a><\/span> and targeting the wrong people. Here are three tips to help you focus your marketing approach:<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>1. Focus on the needs your product or service fills.<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><b><\/b>The most important question to ask yourself is who is most likely to use your product or service. Take into account factors like age, income, and location.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>2. Check out your competition.<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b><\/b><span class=\"s1\">When you\u2019re determining your target market, it never hurts to look around you to understand your competitors. Who are they targeting? Who are their current customers? Don&#8217;t go after the same market. Try to find a niche market that they are overlooking.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b>3. Once you&#8217;ve decided on a target market, be sure to consider these questions:<br \/>\n<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Are there enough people who fit my criteria?<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Will my target really benefit from my product\/service? Will they see a need for it?<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Do I understand what drives my target to make decisions?<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Can they afford my product\/service?<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Can I reach them with my message? <\/span><span class=\"s1\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Don&#8217;t break down your target too far! Remember, you can have more than one niche market.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Consider if your marketing message should be different for each niche. If you can reach both niches effectively with the same message, then maybe you have broken down your market too far. Also, if you find there are only 50 people that fit all of your criteria, maybe you should reevaluate your target. The trick is to find that perfect balance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Implementing all of the information above will put you far ahead of most other business owners. And\u2026 it\u2019s just the beginning!
