{"id":4552,"date":"2020-09-02T06:18:05","date_gmt":"2020-09-02T11:18:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.harveker.com\/blog\/?p=4552"},"modified":"2020-09-02T06:18:05","modified_gmt":"2020-09-02T11:18:05","slug":"change-negative-money-mindset","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.harveker.com\/blog\/change-negative-money-mindset\/","title":{"rendered":"How To Change Your Negative Money Mindset"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_98XAzxMRhg?start=10\" width=\"800\" height=\"455\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">The video above is a recording of a live call with my students where I discuss how to solve internal conflict related to ingrained money beliefs<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. <\/span><span class=\"s1\">If you\u2019re ready to get beyond your negative mindset about money, keep reading.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">You\u2019ve probably heard<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> <a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.harveker.com\/blog\/10-limiting-beliefs-on-money-infographic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s3\">limiting money beliefs<\/span><\/a><\/span> like, <i>\u201cmoney is the root of all evil\u201d<\/i> or<i> \u201crich people are greedy.\u201d<\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Heck, you may <i>actually have<\/i> those negative beliefs yourself. <\/span><span class=\"s4\">Believe it or not, the way you think and feel about money plays a huge role in the decisions you make and the way you view money.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">If you believe that money is evil and rich people are greedy, how could you ever become rich yourself?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">You couldn\u2019t.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>But money isn\u2019t the issue here.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Neither is that \u201cproblem\u201d you\u2019re facing. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">When it all boils down to it, <b>the issue is your mind.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">Everything is neutral until you give it meaning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Your belief \u2014 your mindset \u2014\u00a0 is what gives money, or anything else in life it\u2019s context. Rich people aren\u2019t bad. Poor people aren\u2019t bad. People&#8217;s mindsets about wealth is what makes it \u201cevil.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">In the video above, I\u2019m talking with my students about how to solve internal conflict related to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.harveker.com\/blog\/10-limiting-beliefs-on-money-infographic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s2\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">ingrained money beliefs<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">One student said he is conflicted over \u201cwanting to be rich, but believing that money is evil.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Over time, some people develop an unhealthy money belief system, and those unhealthy thoughts could actually be impairing their ability to get rich.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p5\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Understand Where Your Money Beliefs Come From\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">It\u2019s important not only to acknowledge your beliefs about money, but to understand them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Where did they come from? Who told you that money is bad? What experiences made you feel that way about wealth?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">You need to recondition your money beliefs to train yourself and your mindset. If (or when) you become rich, would you be a bad person? Would you give money to those in need? Would you help others if you become rich? If so, then being rich is not bad. Being rich, just like anything else in life, is whatever you make it to be.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">So if you are experiencing internal conflict because of your beliefs about money, you should take proactive steps to change those beliefs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Become <i>aware<\/i> of your limiting, non-supportive beliefs related to wealth and money and <i>change<\/i> them into supportive ones.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Let\u2019s get ready to re-write your money story starting now.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s5\">4 Steps To <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Change Your Negative Money Mindset<\/span><\/h2>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"p8\"><span class=\"s1\">1. Let Go of Past Money Mistakes<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I could talk for days about the money mistakes I made when I was young! There are tons of financial decisions in my past that I wish I could go back, erase, and do-over. Unfortunately, that isn\u2019t how life works. The only thing I can do now is to use what I learned from those experiences to help me make better decisions today.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Once I accepted my financial failures in my past, I was able to move on from them, but it required me to change my mindset. Starting with a fresh perspective on money, for me, was a breath of fresh air.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It is time for you to do the same thing. Eliminate Scarcity Mindset<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The scarcity mindset is believing there is never enough. In your mind, you believe that no matter what you do, there will never be enough.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">But, in almost every case, that simply isn\u2019t true. There will always be enough; it may not be exactly what we want or like. But, your needs will be met.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The opposite of a scarcity mindset is an abundance mindset. Look around and see what you have.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s1\">Show thanks!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s1\">An attitude of gratitude will always find the positive no matter what may be going on around you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s1\">I get it. Commit to What You Want<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The number one reason most people don\u2019t get what they want is that they don\u2019t know what they want. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.harveker.com\/blog\/13-biggest-differences-rich-poor\/\"><span class=\"s3\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Rich people<\/span><\/span><\/a> are totally clear that they want wealth. They are unwavering in their desire. They are fully committed to creating wealth. As long as it\u2019s legal, moral, and ethical, they will do whatever it takes to have wealth. Rich people do not send mixed messages to the universe. Poor people do.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">How do you want to live your life? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">How do you want to play the game? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Do you want to play in the big leagues or in the little leagues, in the majors or the minors? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Are you going to play big or play small? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Are you going to live a level 10 life?
