There are two common questions that people who are getting into business tend to ask themselves.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \u201cWhat if this doesn\u2019t work?\u201d\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. \u201cWhat if it\u2019s not right for me?\u201d <\/i>(Which is what I want to discuss in more depth here)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In other words, what if you start this venture, invest your money, make some money\u2026or even a lot of money\u2026<\/i>but end up hating it?!?<\/span><\/p>\n

    When we say we want something that\u2019s \u201cright\u201d for us, we\u2019re really saying we want to be successful and happy \u2014 down to our soul. We want to be doing something that feels<\/i> right for us, for who we are at our deepest core, and to feel good<\/i> about being successful.<\/span><\/p>\n

    So the question of what\u2019s \u201cright\u201d for us isn\u2019t some New-Agey, wishful thinking. It\u2019s deep. It\u2019s about our lives<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    But here\u2019s the problem, people: <\/span><\/p>\n

    If you keep waiting for the \u201cright\u201d thing at the \u201cright\u201d time, guess what? You\u2019ll be waiting and waiting and waiting and you\u2019ll never be successful.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Because you\u2019ll get into the habit<\/i> of waiting for the \u201cright\u201d thing, and nothing will ever be right!<\/span><\/p>\n

    Don’t Wait For The “Right” Thing To Happen<\/h2>\n

    I used to say to myself all the time, \u201cIf I get in the right business at the right time, I\u2019m going to make it.\u201d<\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n

    But the problem was I kept on doing that \u2014 making that my criteria \u2014 and I never made it. I wasn\u2019t successful.
    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

    So finally I said,\u00a0\u201cEff it\u2026I don\u2019t give a shit anymore. I\u2019m not happy. I haven\u2019t been happy for ten frickin\u2019 years. I\u2019m just going to do what I enjoy doing, what I believe in.\u201d\u00a0<\/em>And what I believed in at the time was running and fitness.<\/span><\/p>\n

    I used to run eight to twelve miles every day on the beach, sometimes twice a day. I enjoyed it. It made me feel amazing. Long story short, I ended up starting one of the world\u2019s first retail fitness stores. I said to myself, \u201cIf I make money at it, great. If I don\u2019t, at least I\u2019ll be in something I enjoy for a while.\u201d<\/em> Sure as hell beat scrounging for coupons, or selling jewelry and pen watches and everything else I was trying to sell just to eat and pay rent.<\/span><\/p>\n

    But here’s the biggest lesson I learned from that experience:<\/p>\n

    The first and most important thing about considering an additional vehicle for income or a new vehicle is to look for something that\u2019s going to be long-lasting<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Look For Something That’s Going To Be Long-Lasting<\/h2>\n

    If it\u2019s going to be long-lasting, it\u2019s going to have to work. The only way it can work is if it works with you \u2014 if it fits who you are.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

    If the vehicle that you\u2019re trying to create an income from doesn\u2019t fit who you are, you will fail miserably. You will either do decently for a short time financially \u2014 then you probably won\u2019t anymore because you don\u2019t like it and you\u2019re looking for something else \u2014 or you won\u2019t do well from the get-go.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Look for a vehicle that suits who you are.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    So what\u2019s the clue?<\/span><\/p>\n

    It\u2019s your perfect vehicle if your head and your heart are blending in balance.<\/span><\/p>\n

    In other words, the head is the logic that asks the question: is there demand and viability for my idea? Could this work? Will people pay for this? Or if yours is brand new, it\u2019s a perceived<\/i> demand based on the problems that people have.<\/span><\/p>\n

    That\u2019s why I always say I don\u2019t like to be the very first in anything because I want to see that someone else has done something at least on a tiny basis that shows the demand. Or you do it yourself and you prove the demand. It\u2019s got to work in the real world. It\u2019s got to be wanted.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The heart portion of this piece speaks for itself. It means it\u2019s got to be in your wheelhouse. It\u2019s got to resonate with you.<\/a> It\u2019s got to be what you enjoy; what you want to help people with.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Don\u2019t look for additional income opportunities. Look for something that suits who you are<\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\n
