Here are my 3 simple strategies for starting a business with no money:
1. Get Someone Else to Fund Your Business
We all know that starting a successful business does require capital – money coming in and money going out, but it is possible to start your business without a lot of money, and it’s definitely possible to launch your business without spending any of your own money.
If you have a great idea, you can look for partners and investors who are willing to invest in your start-up. I’m a major investor, and I can tell you this for sure:
There’s more money looking for good ideas than there are ideas looking for money.
So, what does that mean? If you can bring something great to the table, it could be an invention, a skill, or some intellectual property, there’s someone with money willing to help you launch your business!
2. Leverage Real Estate
That fantastic piece of property you’ve been eyeing might just be the capital you need to fund your business.
Real estate is a fantastic way to create wealth, and if you find the right deal, there are lots of people with money who would likely be willing to help you finance your business venture.
3. Develop, Demonstrate, and Deliver
When I started my very first business, I had NOTHING but an empty storefront and a dream to open the world’s first fitness equipment store. I had a great idea, but I had no capital, which meant I had nothing to actually sell!
I took a big risk and took out a $2000 credit card loan, and persuaded an equipment manufacturer to send me one rowing machine to demo in my store. For weeks, I’d sit in the window of my store rowing away, as people passed by wondering what the heck I was doing! Finally, a few of them ventured inside to ask, and I knew I had my chance! That day, I PRESOLD 10 rowing machines, and the rest is history!
It seems crazy, but you can do this to launch your business too. I call it CUSTOMER FINANCING. Convince your customer to pre-order what you’re selling by making a deposit. Use their deposit to deliver the good or service to your customer, and use your profits to sell more!
Customer financing is the BEST way to start your business because:
- Don’t need any money to start.
- Make customers happy.
- Can gain momentum quickly.
- Create cash flow you can count on.
- Don’t have to put up any money!
