T. Harv Eker & Mary Morrissey On The Art Of Setting Ambitious Goals And Achieving Them

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Do you know exactly what you want in life, but just don’t know how to get it?

Anyone who has ever set a goal knows that setting them is easy – but actually accomplishing them is an entirely different matter.

Only 8% of people who set goals for what they want in life actually end up achieving them. And some experts say that about 80% give up before they’ve even really gotten started!

Don’t let that statistic scare you, though. It is possible to set goals and actually achieve them… if you do it the right way.

Here’s another great video that I put together with my friend, author, and founder of Life Mastery Institute, Mary Morrissey, to get her thoughts on goal setting.

Watch this video to find out what she had to say:

My Take On Mary Morrissey’s Method For Setting Goals & Achieving Them

There’s nothing wrong with you if you set goals and regularly don’t achieve them.

How do I know? Well, like Mary Morrissey mentioned, goal setting is only HALF of the puzzle.

To design the life you truly want, you need to have two parts in place: goals AND systems.

Having goals you want to reach is great, but if you don’t have systems in place to allow you to work toward those goals, you’re setting yourself up for failure.

Why You Need Systems In Place To Reach Your Goals

First, what is a system? In short, it’s a process or set of processes or routines to get your from start to finish (your end goal).

Let me give you some examples to explain this further…

If you’re a writer, your goal might be to finish writing a book. So what could the system be here?

The system is the steps you need to take to finish that project on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis. This might include blocking a specific day and time each week to sit down and write, no matter what. The next step would be actually doing it and committing to that action, and then repeating this process over and over until you’ve finished writing your book. Simple, yes?

Here’s another example… Let’s say you’re an entrepreneur and your goal is to build a million dollar business. You might have a great product or service, but if you can’t connect with people who want to buy it, you’ll never reach your goal. So your system is the sales and marketing processes you put in place, repeat every day, and fine-tune as you go.

Make sense?

If there’s a goal you want to achieve, stop focusing on the end result and instead start thinking about the systems you need to put in place to make your dreams a reality. Good or good?!

Let’s hear from you, what systems do you have in place to keep up the momentum so you can achieve your biggest goals? Share in the comments section below!

I’m glad to see Harv and Mary working together. I’ve taught Mary’s prosperity courses and I am using some of Harv’s ideas in my programs. I respect both of their ideas and I love sharing them with others.
