Most people stay in the realm of fantasy, maybe dipping out occasionally to buy a lottery ticket. Others may not be satisfied with the 9 to 5 grind. Even among those who take risks, pouring energy into business ideas, opportunities, and companies, most will fail within three to five years.
However, there are some people, few people, with the skill (which can be learned through modeling), willpower, and creativity who are successful. These people, above even the previous characteristics, have an attribute that I believe separates the rich from the poor. It’s intention. These people create financial intentions.
Most people say their financial goal is to make money. That’s a good goal, but the issue is that it’s not specific enough. After all, if you have wishy-washy intentions, you’re going to get wishy-washy results.
Create Financial Intentions
Rich Business People Have Three Financial Intentions:

Have a very high working income
-
Create passive income
-
Dramatically enhance the value of their company
What’s the intention that poor people have? To earn a living and a decent one, too. That’s what they’re in business for. They don’t consider ways to create passive income. Even more importantly, they don’t consider ways to create wealth.
Remember, a business is not a job. A job is too much work along with too many challenges to earn a decent living. Design a business model that will be a vehicle to set you free and create nothing short of wealth! Rich people understand that business is simply two components:
- Buying or creating something.
- Selling it for more.
And that’s it! Most broke people have struggles. They put most of their energy into the administrative and operations arena rather than the two simple business components, and that is a mistake.
Focus on the Intention
Of course, operations are very important, but it’s not the essence of the business. Go back to the cave people: ‘Here’s a piece of meat. I want your stick.’ That’s it! There’s no tech support. There’s no finance department, reporting, no furniture, and there’s no computers. ‘Your stick, my meat! Let’s go!’ That’s business!
Business is buying and creating and selling. Everything else is just icing on the cake.
This knowledge helps focus the intention of why we’re talking millionaire success strategies. The basics help, but the intention has to come from the simplest truth. When we’re going into business, we’re not going halfway. I mean, you can, but is that much better than working a typical job?
When we’re talking about our money blueprints, the basics of why we go into business have to be drawn up into the foundation. It’s so simple and powerful yet not very well understood. Knowing this gives you focus when challenges inevitably arise, or when you face disappointments and setbacks.
First and foremost, you are doing this because you are going to be rich! Whatever other intentions are attached to that — for a family, to buy nice things, to travel, to be an artist, whatever — don’t have to conflict with this truth.
You are doing this to be rich and free!

Yes I am an artist and I want to become rich and erase all of the negative blueprints of my family line. I have a very clear intention on this and it is written in my mind ( also in my 2017-20 homework-plan book ) : I have to go backwards to the time I didn’t worry about money in my bank account ( and I was not really rich ) to build again my financial progress, but this time to make it better, bigger and more intelligent so it will be sustainable until I become really, really rich. I lost my direction, and instead of starting another business when the first 2 failed I looked for and found dead end jobs instead. I not only want to be rich I want to be enormously wealthy. I remember growing up and telling my grandmother that I was going to buy her a house and car. Everyone was cheering me on and seemed to be excited about that fact. Somewhere along the adult line, I adopted the belief that being rich wasn’t spiritual and that it’s easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven. I became so afraid to get rich. My grandmother asked me a few months ago what happened to her house and car. I can’t even buy myself a house and car so how am I going to buy anyone else one? Lol. I now have a new sense of what that means. Heaven is a state of being. Alot of rich people are miserable. Alot of rich people are also happy. I now understand that whatever it is that I was before, I will be more of that. My intention is now to be rich. I will be able to help so many people, and definitely buy my granny that house and car! I have been looking at money as a means to keep my head above water instead of looking for freedom. I do need to do some rewiring. Now I understand my intention should be to live better than just comfortable. I intend to be rich, more than rich, and I want to help others become rich as well. That’s the road to happiness.
I have come to realize I am wealthy. Now what I imagine is the passive income. To be rich is to bring in 3 times what my income is now. Part of that income will go to a charity. Part goes to savings for the cruise we will take grandchildren on for graduation. Part goes to a portfolio for continued income.

That’s so true, the value exchange principle remains the same after thousands of years! The difference now, too many distractions that we have to deal with. My financial goals are clear, and they are in relation to bring the poverty numbers down, to teach people to want to aim for more and help them realise their true potential! And to ensure that children are provided with at least clean water and food daily to be able to learn around the world!
How strange it is! Harv asked what your financial intentions are, and no one answered about the money! My financial intentions: a passive income of 300,000 dollars a year + an annual increase in capitalization of 300-500 000 dollars per year! May it be so!!!
I loved this, I’m going to reflect on it, even more, tonight and get very clear with my money intentions. I used to think my intentions were to have financial freedom, be location independent, and be able to have and do what I want when I want. But, after reading this I realize that all of those things are bi-products of the true intention, which is to get wildly fucking wealthy!

Yes I do set financial intentions. My problem is figuring out the correct figure to strive for. Also, some needs have changed and responsibilities too which means I have to level up to earn even more. Last year I started a business as a beauty consultant. To be honest, it is my first business and I had no previous experience in this area. Prior to this business I was working in a laboratory and my contract was not extended due to physical health issues. At the moment I am not working and experiencing some resistance when doing the business because it demands quite some labor. because of this it has been a little dormant lately. In this time I have been thinking about how I can generate a passive income at least for the time being. (my goal is to achieve financial freedom, but if possible with less labor). So far, my financial intention was to become a successful real estate investor. I’ve planned to start buying one or two townhouses or apartment per year to gain experience in the next two years. My expectation was to get between 400 to $500 in passive income from each unit. After that I would start buying 6-8 unit apartment buildings to increase the flow of my passive income on the 3rd. year. I can see now that this strategy will not make me rich and that is the reason why I sign up for one of your courses.

Thank you, in my case, my partner and I are not discouraged and have begun to create financial intensions based on our objectives, but our financial patterns are quite different now that I am reading the millionaire mind we have tried to align our patterns, thanks for your help .
My money intention before is to earn enough money to live but as i move on i found that im still where im before.
But now my money intention is
1- To be rich at first earn one million dollar in the coming three years from now.
2- Learn about money and how it can work for me for the coming three years.
3- Be able to retired from my job in the coming ten years from now and let the money work for me.

Good day from the country of Georgia. I’ve been struggling with the money debt for many years, had my ups too, but am currently totally broke with about 400K Georgian Lari “GEL” in debt (which is about USD 160K). I have tried numerous different techniques to become financially free, but with each of them I seem to be focusing on debt (on getting rid of debt rather), hence attracting more of it. I am so tired of this endless fight and I want to be fully committed to become rich. I understand this is not a correct way to set commitment which is described in the Secrets of Millionaires Mind. I realize I have subconscious obstacles (fears, shame and guilt) which prevent me from setting up a proper commitment and I am working on them. I guess one of my issues with the intention to become rich is that I am so focused on getting rid of debt and I keep setting my goal for 400K GEL, which I understand would not make me rich, but would only let me live decent life, which right now seems like living in heaven. I am in the middle of reading the Secrets of Millionaires Mind and I have started applying some of the principles; thank you for the comprehensive explanations. Apologies for chaotic comment. I’m trying to start a food blog and YouTube channel. Trying to rewire my brain and literally binge watched Ron Friedman’s Peak Work Performance Summit, which is what led me to you. 🙂 OMG! The most mind blowing insights I got that were so simple I should have thought them up myself…but I didn’t because oftentimes the simplest solution is the most difficult to find. Well…anyway, I binged on the motivational lectures because I knew step 1 needs to start within so that I can take action and can execute my plans to the highest potential.
Naturally the blog and channel will be recipe related and I’ve been picking up on ideas here and there on how I can achieve my “email lead magnet” but not sure what I could offer as Value Stacking a sort of course so people can pay? I’m hoping to learn more about that tonight from your class. My brain is in sponge mode right now, so I’m ready to soak up any/all tidbits you could teach me.

I visualise all the time to sell more and be valued with my work. I see the new car, home etc. I do get things come to me its true, but I do struggle with money a lot and I would really like to give my son a good education and better quality of life. As I write this today my bank account is -6.42 p! Yes I know I am crap! with money and I am at the moment writing at list of out goings. Yes I am wishy washy. Right now I believe I am still a bit wishy washy when it comes to this. But I feel that the wishy washy is going away day after day.
I need to focus more on my financial goals, not just writing them down and saying them out loud. They are solid, I just need to constantly focus on them. Constantly doing what needs to be done when it comes to finances.
When I focus on my financial goals or any finances period I anticipate what is going to happen and I am not reacting. Which has been awesome.

Yes I agree that I need to set my intention. My 1st intention is to build a passive monthly income of $10,000 and to increase gradually to $50,000 and subsequently to $100,000 a month. I have currently enjoying 3 sources of income for myself. They are my life insurance commission, general insurance commission and rental income from my 2 apartments which is still in negative cash flow.
I look forward to pay up my apartments with the maturity of my agar wood investment by year 2020. The rental income of $7,000 per month will than be my monthly passive income.
My value investment in my local stock market with capital of $250,000 to give me a CAGR (year compounding return) of 15%. This will help me to double my capital on every 5 years. I am now in my 3rd year of my value investment journey which is on track of its 15% CAGR. Therefore, when I reach of age 60 my portfolio should have grown to $500,000. I will continue to invest another 5 years with targeted CAGR at 15% it will double my portfolio to $1,000,000. So I am targeting by my age 70 my portfolio would have grown to $2,000,000. I will draw down $1,000,000 to continue to maintain my lifestyle and the balance $1,000,000.00 to continue to invest for another 5 years. This will help me to continue to sustain my retirement lifestyle with $1,000,000 every 5 years.
In the meantime I am also exploring and attending classes on other investment vehicles like stock trading and option. I am eagerly looking forward to be financially free.

I write books and I’ve finally found the confidence to begin publishing them. I’ve written one book recently that I just know in my bones has big potential. After not finding as good a publisher as I want, I self-published that and I am working on its sequel, which, again, I feel is out-of-the-box yet in-the-box enough to be an actual Big Thing. It is now the finalist in a contest and I’m working on completing/refining that manuscript before Nov. 1 when they decide on the contest winner — whether I win or lose, that should be a sellable moment, and possibly for both books and not just one.
So: my piece of meat that I’m offering: two fine, creative, interesting, movie-produceable manuscripts that readers are already enchanted with.
The stick I need to cook this meat: an audience of readers and a publisher/agent/possibly movie team to help me reach and grow that audience.
In my head is an initial amount of $24,000 for what I’m offering at the moment. I know that has the potential to grow to six and seven figure earnings pretty quickly.. Not just with these two manuscripts but with all the other ones simmering away inside me. Further, as you mentioned in another post, I know that I am offering value to other human beings, enhancing their lives in ways that nobody else is doing for them. They have already told me so. My words leave lingering good feeling and bits of wisdom and joy and hmmm with my readers.
I’ve always known my fortune lay in my writing, but for a couple of decades I let other people squash that. Feels like such a relief to just KNOW that I’m on the right path.

I have to develop the strength to handle and keep money flowing and growing. With me, it’s either feast or famine. I don’t want to just earn a living, I want to build wealth. I want financial freedom to pursue other interests and help others as well.
HI Harv, for me it was not knowing what I cared about most. There were a few things. My vision didn’t come together until I combined them. Before that the vision was unstable and I knew I wouldn’t stick with it until all the pieces were there. I then realized it was more of a concept that required several business to make it happen. They didn’t need to be my businesses. I also realized that some of my targeted market would feel it caused isolation and so they would not be interested. That was the wrong result. Whatever the business is it has to make since, have a known result that is wanted and works over the long haul without you having to do most of the work yourself so you can be a better tweaker and problem solver as unexpected challenges might arise. Or you could sell and let someone else be the chief tweaker. I only kept this vision to myself because I haven’t found an appropriate model to explain how this works and would involve state or county permissions or ordinances. I would have to find those agencies or knowledgeable persons to see if there are statutes or laws that would cause a change to the blue print. I wanted to wait till 2019 after the holidays were over befor doing this next step. But then I could take Jesse’s advice and do it online. I have the basic concept but am wishy washy about how this would make money. Like what part of it makes the money for me. The concept was borne out of a public service need not as an income stream with maybe the potential or opportunity to create an income stream or several of them. This is what led me to your blueprint course. I need to this all together into a coherent model.
My intention is to become a multimillion and learn how to manage that money in order to leave a legacy for my children and grandchildren. Financial freeedom and the ability to travel are all part of my intentions.

I have a story to share with you and probably you can redirect my strength to my path.
I have a started a family Scrap Metal business dating back to early 2004 and running.
I started with basically nothing. All I did was getting my hands dirty by physically collecting thresh cans on the roads, shop fronts, business houses and dump sites for free. And sell to the recycling companies for profits. I realised that I my effort was worth it.
During my collection I was confronted by criticisms from family, colleagues, friends etc,etc.
That never hold me back because instantly it pushed me way too deeper.
By this time I set my goals for export.
In 2005 I successfully exported two 20fts containers of scraps metals to Australia that is where it was a life changing moment. And continue to do so today.
I have a loving family, and I moved to Australia in 2012 sending my children to school and bought of a family home in Australia.
However, every good things must come to an end and in mid 2012. My marriage came to and end where my partner took on someone into his life and changed everything without my concerned.
I came to a complete stand still. My heart was broken and filled with darkness, couldn’t breath or think right such devastating moments.
I was so broken into pieces I couldn’t look to no one. He took away all that I had leaving me without a dime in my account. I lost every thing from there.
Finally there is a light at the end of the tunnel where I came a cross Rich dad by subscribing to it. And it introduces me to you.
I was inspired by one of your testimonies of of assisting a flee vendor by making flee box and you split the profits.
That was a welcoming remarks I instantly noted as my action plan which reveals to my start of business.
Form nothing to something!!!
2019 I am all set to go…to pursue all my goals and focus on my intentions.

I’ve had a chiropractic business for many years, and it has not been very financially rewarding. Fortunately the love of what I do and the people I help is! It seems silly as I read and study, but money has really never been on my radar. I just thought that it would come as I kept doing my work.

Yes, I have created financial intention, but it has been weak, because I have not been consecutive with my ideas, I have try to get support from my wife and kids, but they don’t see what see, maybe because I have the responsibility to protect my family, obviously when I was living in Venezuela it was different but here in the United States is more difficult, however I have worked hard in different companies, even I sell some venezuelan food to get more income , also I wanted to buy a food truck but my wife wasn’t agree with it, because it had some issues to move, I saw the opportunity to buy it to start my business, so I told her whether this doesn’t work we might sell the truck for a higher price.
Yesterday I did artisan bread and I offered them to different restaurants, they liked those breads, so it could be the beginning.
I have created financial intentions and some are I believe wishy-washy. Yes, I do need to create more solid financial intentions that are more in line with my goals.
Thats the point with mind set… wishy-washy intentions give nothing.

I have been working for almost 20 years like many others, 9 to 5 grind and still financial struggling like a rat races. I have very clear financial intention, i.e. to achieve financial freedom and retire at 50. I understand that in order to change my current situation and achieve my goal, I have to step out from this comfort zone. But my wife always think otherwise. She prefers to stay as it now, She is not a risk taker. I think this will be my bigger obstacle that I have to overcome before I can move on. I would like to hear some advise from anyone here.

I think my financial intentions have been more of a survival mode. since being a full time single parent for the last 8 years. I recently lost my job and have been working on getting another one for just over 6 months. Have been doing Uber Eats delivery and recently added Amazon delivery to pay my bills.

My Financial Intentions are, amongst others, to get financial freedom by creating businesses and passive income through different sources. I have a job that takes most of my time, in fact, I work 12 hours daily for 14 days and rest at home for 14 days. I have a school built in my hometown which is not fetching enough wads as expected. Only recently, I have joined online marketing to network products from Chymall and expecting to get residual income from this online mall. I am still looking for other opportunities online to increase my residual income and hopefully retire in the next 3 years or so. I’m 45 already.
