Do you struggle to find the self motivation to change your life for the better? Keep reading to learn how to gain the momentum you need to take the first step to positive change.
How Self Motivation Results in Positive Action
I believe we are spiritual beings living physical lives. To make the most of this life, we have to take care of, nurture, and most importantly listen to the clues that our spirit gives us. This happens mostly through gut intuition and feelings we have.
At some point, though, we have to honor the physical side of our lives. as well. That means finding the self motivation to start taking action. To hell if conditions aren’t perfect. It doesn’t matter if the circumstance isn’t quite ideal or a person isn’t following through the way they said they would. We’ve got to take all these spiritual principles and put them into action.
Taking the First Step Toward Positive Change
The first step is exactly where a lot of people get stuck. Even those with greater awareness and knowledge can struggle. You know you want to work out, you need to get into better shape for the sake of generating more energy to work toward your mission. But, even so, that first step is often the hardest to take.
Depending on how long you were on your last cycle, getting the ball rolling can feel like pushing a boulder uphill, metaphorically speaking. You need to build the spiritual muscle that separates those who are successful from those still waiting at the gate. That spiritual muscle is momentum.
Use Momentum as Self-Motivation to Change
Momentum is a force that makes it easier for someone who’s successful to do what’s right rather than what’s wrong. Momentum is the process of getting the snowball moving. The hardest part about working out is getting to the gym. Once you get there, it’s not that hard to do what you need to do.
When you’re in motion, things begin to line up. This doesn’t happen before (that goes for you, perfectionist!). When in doubt, act. Did someone else once tell you when in doubt to stop and think? No! I say thinking is dangerous to your wealth!
Most people who I know that got rich didn’t think too much. They saw a piece of property and thought, ‘This looks good. Anything structurally wrong? Environmentally? No? Good, I’ll buy it.’ Twenty years later, they’re very rich. They really planned that one out, huh?
Just as an aside, if you’re really “smart,” chances are you’re not going to be really rich. You’re going to get in your own way, a real momentum killer. Those who aren’t too “smart” are open to knowing:
- They don’t know everything they need to know to be rich
- Are okay acknowledging they will eventually learn how to be rich, even if it temporarily hurt’s their pride to know exactly how far off they were to begin with
A body in motion will remain in motion, and a body at rest will remain at rest. So, what should we want to do? Get into motion! Once you’re there, it gets easier. We already know that. Now we gotta just find the self motivation to do it.
Your turn! What in your life do you need to get started on and adjust as you go? What have you been waiting for to take action? What’s the fear holding you back from finding your momentum?
You will make it. Trust yourself. Love yourself and know that you make it all up. It’s your freaking story!
Now we want to hear from you! What are some positive momentum-changers that have worked for you to find self motivation?

I started Corepower Yoga today, My friend kept telling me just buy the 20 visit pass and go 2 times a week. I thought well, yes that would be good but, not great for me and not out of my comfort zone. If I buy the unlimited pass I have to go at least 3 times a week to get my moneys worth. So since I don’t want to waste my money and I have to de-stress and get in shape I am going to do this for my self and plan out my week so I go at least 3 times a week and take care of myself. Perfect start to my day!
Hi
I always wanted to have my own primary school but had no money. A friend invested money into a school for me and it is a lot of money but in January 2017 only 10 children enroll. This is Kwa Zulu Natal and the people don’t trust a new school the first year. So now I went to see management at one of the shopping centre to advertise our school. They asked what can i offer so i said that we will give scholarship to one of the children in the rural areas every year. So now we have our name on their shopping centre. I really want my school to prosper and I hope that it will and that more ideas will flow to me. We are so blessed.
Thanks for another super blog!! I love that you started with the importance of taking care of, nurturing and listening to the clues our spirits give. I have my 6 jars and the one marked “PLAY!” to make my spirit happy. 🙂
Momentum: I have outside persons that deliberately try and stifle my momentum, they live in the darkness and negativity of life, and are angry that I refuse their company. In the past five years I have had this happen 4 times, crippling my business plans, and having to start all over in another home and redirect my career. I am continually starting my momentum up again and learning to drive around the obstacles like a Lamborghini on a obstacle course. So far things are going well again. I will NEVER give up!
