Positive Thinking Won’t Make You Rich… But This “Type” Of Thinking Will

Whenever you’re feeling down on your luck or efforts, how many times have you heard someone say, “Just be positive, it will all be okay.”
Or how many times have you told your own self to keep your chin up and that things would look better in due time?
I think we’ve all experienced and done this at some point.
When I was working hard to get rich, I repeated these phrases to myself ALL THE TIME. I did everything to try and stay positive when things got hard.
But then one day, all of that changed.
I was done with positive thinking. And it was when I flipped that thought around, that things REALLY started changing and looking up and the fun started.
What do I mean? Well, let me start with this example.
On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the lowest, imagine you are a person with a level 2 strength of character and attitude looking at a level 5 problem. Would this problem appear to be big or little? From a level 2 perspective, a level 5 problem would seem like a big problem.
Now imagine you’ve grown yourself and become a level 8 person. Would the same level 5 problem be a big problem or a little problem? Magically, the identical problem is now a little problem.
Finally, imagine that you’ve really worked hard on yourself and become a level 10 person. Now, is this same level 5 problem a big problem or a little problem?
The answer is that it’s no problem. It doesn’t even register in your brain as a problem. There’s no negative energy around it. It’s just a normal occurrence to handle, like brushing your teeth or getting dressed.
It gets easier the higher the level you’re at… now why do you think this is?
It’s simple — it lies in what I like to call “power thinking”.
And how is “power thinking” different from “positive thinking”?
The distinction is slight but profound. To me, people use positive thinking to pretend that everything is rosy, when they really believe that it’s not. With power thinking, we understand that everything is neutral, that nothing has meaning except for the meaning we give it.
This is the difference between positive thinking and power thinking.
With positive thinking, people believe that their thoughts are true.
Power thinking recognizes that our thoughts are not true, but since we’re making up a story anyway, we might as well make up a story that supports us. We don’t do this because our new thoughts are “true” in an absolute sense, but because they are or useful to us and feel a heck of a lot better than non-supportive ones.
It all comes down to this: if your subconscious “financial blueprint” is not “set” for success, nothing you learn, nothing you know, and nothing you do will make much of a difference.
After 14 years of struggle I finally changed my thinking — I went from positive thinking to power thinking — and the first thing I did was commit to my success and played the money game to win!
I swore I would focus and not even consider leaving this business until I was a millionaire or more.
This was radically different from my previous efforts, where, because I always thought short-term, I would constantly get side-tracked by either good opportunities or when things got tough. I convinced myself everything would be okay if I kept my eyes and ears peeled for any opportunity that came my way.
It’s not enough to be in the right place at the right time. You have to be the right person in the right place at the right time.
If you want to change the fruits, you will first have to change the roots. If you want to change the visible, you must first change the invisible.
In every forest, on every farm, in every orchard on earth, it’s what’s under the ground that creates what’s above the ground. That’s why placing your attention on the fruits that you have already grown is futile. You cannot change the fruits that are already hanging on the tree. You can, however, change tomorrow’s fruits. But to do so, you will have to dig below the ground and strengthen the roots.
You gotta work on that POWER thinking.
What you cannot see in the world is far more powerful than anything you can see.
Money is a result, wealth is a result, health is a result, your weight is a result. We live in a world of cause and effect.
A lack of money is never, ever, ever a problem. A lack of money is merely a symptom of what is going on underneath.
And all that lies in how you think.
Whatever results you’re getting, be they rich or poor, good or bad, positive or negative, always remember that your outer world is simply a reflection of your inner world i.e. how you think. It’s that simple.
Now get to work on your power thinking!
Did this article help? Have you had any experiences with changing how you think and getting a new result? We want to hear from you!
Now how do you change your inner world if you’re not getting the results you’re looking for? The first step — awareness. Becoming aware of those thoughts that are creating those feelings which are driving your actions and causing your results.
Which is why I created a web class called: Don’t Believe A Thought You Think: The Greatest Secret To Life.
It’s happening Tuesday February, 7th. I’d love if you joined me.
For Your Freedom,

So true, it is our duty to become bigger than our problems in order to solve them effortless, but growing takes a while.
Yes indeed. Work on the invisible for what is visible.
This is so true 100%!
Awesome to read this article as a refresher after having read the Millionaire Mind some time ago. Having the right mindset or the blueprint is absolutely crucial to achieving what you want. But also at the same time, I believe that just like training to become a world class athlete, there are specific ‘ways’ to become what we want to become. Having a growth mindset is just the start – you need to understand how to get there as well. A step by step guide that works like gravity. Becoming rich is the same, if you know how, you will become it. I wrote an article on it last time it’s called 4 Principles that will make you Rich. I highly recommend this to your readers! https://www.transformingadjustments.com/success/principles-law-rich
From your huge fan.
thanks for everything, you are my late night chat friend, your writings are the last stuffs i read before going to bed
Excellent post! I have always been a positive thinker, but I don’t consider it rose colored glasses, or putting my head in the sand. I think of myself as a silver lining girl…always looking for the good in every situation. It’s hard sometimes, but if nothing else look for the lesson to be learned. But I definitely like this idea of power thinking, and looking at situations as being neutral. It’s our reaction to the situation that matters.
It’s not enough to be in the right place at the right time. You have to be the right person in the right place at the right time.
To me, this is the crux of the message. Opportunities are all around but if our mindset and outlook isn’t open to them, we won’t take advantage of them.
so true !!! i got to nourish my roots so that my leaves will be healthy shining green ! my trunk will be solid and standing strong !! then i’ll be fruitful in all seasons !!! my branches will then be stretching out in all direction and flourishing !!!! this is all happening because i am nourishing / growing my inner/true self….. i am being the real me !!!
Been in business for myself 18 years and in a REALLY rough spot right now.
2 things I got from the read:
1. Right time. Right situation. Right people.
2. Stop bullshitting yourself that everything is fine when it’s not. It’s a lie and your subconscious knows you’re lying. That’s why when awake, I smile with false bravado and then have night terrors when I sleep.
Very true Harv
People get rewarded on what’s visible for what they have been growing in the invisible
Thank you for the intuitiveness, have a great day!!!
“This was radically different from my previous efforts, where, because I always thought short-term, I would constantly get side-tracked by either good opportunities or when things got tough. I convinced myself everything would be okay if I kept my eyes and ears peeled for any opportunity that came my way.”
This is EXACTLY what I do!! Short term thinking has been a big obstacle for me, and I get frustrated when things don’t happen fast enough, and get sidetracked and go off on a tangent. Just did it yesterday as a matter of fact! What a relief to hear that Harv did this too! Good to know I’m not the only one, and that there is hope to break out of this. Sometimes it feels like a never ending cycle.
Harv!
You are the Best! Love you.
i wish to experience greater success
I think that we all in life have/are all still experiencing these ways of thinking then blame someone or something for our situations. Then along comes a man who has experienced these same thoughts and emotions has been through tough situations and recognised it was our minds we need to change before we can change what we do but then Harv done something extraordinary!! in deciding to help others. I thank you so much Harv, I missed no i will not say missed i let go of an opportunity to work with you a couple of weeks ago even though every part of me was screaming do it (FEAR) I will not let those opportunities pass me by again. Declaration – I will not let fear control my thinking or delay my actions I will be the person I need to be to succeed on this journey. I truly thank you , your team and all the students who post, you all are an inspiration.
People always said your thoughts leads to feelings that leads to action, to listen to the inner voice and do what you love. But how to have the right answer to get the inner voice and to affirm it is the right direction of life? Hope to get some answer out to have a leap in life. Cheers!
This is AWESOME!! I never realized that money, health, weight, consequences, all results of your ACTIONS! Wow, my brain just exploded. I’m applying this simple thinking for now on. This is my favorite I’ve read so far, I felt compelled to say something. This changed my thinking just reading this. Thank you for this, I needed it.
Awesome , thankyou
Love this article. When I read about being a level 2 person & looking at a level 5 problem as a big problem then when you level 8 it’s a small problem then when you level 10 no problem, it clicked. An eye opener. Thanks.
