It’s the Roots that Create the Fruit
Turn on the news and there are plenty of reasons not to be so optimistic about a lot of things. There is no denying the new realities we’re forced to reckon with as the world turns, but we have to keep in mind that we are part of a larger tapestry of cycles, both natural and man-made. There are always ups and downs as sure as there are seasons.
We’ve had severe economic recessions before. We’ve had whole world economies change before. Social and political controversy is nothing new. Yet, as wildly as the pendulum swings, the world always seems to also move back through stages of equilibrium.
No matter how bad things may seem, there will be an upswing at some point. Just because we can’t see it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t prepare for it. This isn’t mere “positive thinking.” If you’re not preparing for your eventual success and happiness, then what the heck are you doing?!
The fact is that most people don’t reach their full potential—even if the economy were booming—because most people operate on a very superficial level of life based only on what they can see in the visible world.
We need to connect our inner reality with the inevitabilities of universal reality. Most people never understand and/or utilize the fact that the results of interacting with physical, material world are nothing more than a print-out of our mental, emotional, and spiritual worlds; individually and collectively. Our results are the fruit, but there are roots that create the fruit.
So we take a look at the fruit of our lives—our results—and maybe we don’t like them. They don’t taste so good. There aren’t enough. They’re too small. But these strange fruit didn’t just come out of nowhere.
Who are you? How do you think? What are your beliefs? What are your habits? What are your traits? How do you really feel about yourself? How confident are you in yourself? How confident are you in others? What’s your ability to take action in spite of fear and worry? What’s your ability to take action in spite of inconvenience, discomfort, or when you’re not in the freaking mood?
There’s a saying: ‘It’s not enough to be in the right place at the right time. You have to be the right person in the right place at the right time.’
How do you know when the time is right? You don’t! That’s why it’s so important to be who or what you strive to be now! We do this because that’s what it means to show up in excellence even when you think there’s really nothing on the line. There’s always something on the line—you! Your principles. Your values. Your mindset. Your habits. Your actions. Your results. We constantly have to till our own soil no matter what. Only then will we be in a position to reap the rewards of the inevitable change of seasons.
Now it’s time to share your thoughts with the community. How are you showing up in these difficult times? How are you keeping your mental, emotional and spiritual center? What are some strategies or tricks you’ve employed to keep fear and anxiety at bay? We want to hear from you!

Your story about how the Chinese bamboo grows from MMI is engraved into my subconscious!
Thank you Harv
Thanks for this Harv.
I really need this to keep going since I'm in deep financial problem now. Been reading your book and blog and subscribe to your Peak Potentials Training blog in months already but I admit my weakness is to keep the positive attitude and consistency and also make an action. I always try to keep up my confident level but at the meantime I'm facing fear and worry so much to find the solution. Will keep read your articles to keep up my spirit.
Thanks again,
Regards,
Ida
up the sight always, connecting to a superior power, God for me!
I remember that this too shall pass. Life is a journey filled with ups and downs. Learn from each experience and continue to move forward.

Great article, I think everybody should read this.
We choose to see only what is visible, but we ignore the roots.
Thanks Harv, it helps to be reminded constantly that how we do things is how we do everything. Thoughts lead to feelings leads to action gives results. Great post.
I don't like the fruits I have now and am focusing on changing my roots. It's not always easy but needs to be done. I want to see lovely fruits in the next 3 to 5 years.
I don't like my present fruits and am working on the roots. I want wonderful roots in 3 to 4 years time.
What can we do about the global situation? I believe since we are all an integral part of the equation, each of our individual actions compounded will ultimately be the deciding factor in the world around us. As we move towards a greater consciousness, I believe together we can achieve a “Garden of Eden” where all of our fruits are bigger, better, and juicier than ever! Here is the strategy that I use to calm fear and worry when I'm facing adversity. To give credit where it's due, I learned this from Adam Markel, a Peak Potentials Trainer:
– AWARENESS of what is and how I am feeling and thinking about what is and whether or not it is empowering.
– ACKNOWLEDGEMENT and ACCEPTANCE of what is and that I have the right to feel and think the way I choose to feel and think.
– FORGIVENESS, usually of myself, and/or what is and how it has affected me so far.
– GRATITUDE of the present moment, and ultimately the positive that I can find in every situation by choosing to focus on the “good fruits” that I already have in my life as well as the potential for ever better fruits.
Gratitude, of all the attitudes, thoughts, techniques, etc. that I've learned, is ultimately the most empowering state I have experienced. When I am grateful, I feel no fear. I may be crying, hurting, in pain, whatever, as soon as I switch my attention to what good I already have and what potential still exists, I can't help but laugh!
i don't watch the news and i am happy and calm all the time i am the happiest person i know and i take action even when i am not ready. because i believe act act act and the universe will give you your dreams
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or Tapping) has done miracles for me in a very short time. It's a combination of acupressure and affirmation. Properly done it really is effective for just about anything that's bothering you. You'll feel a bit silly until you realize that it works. Like any methodology there are really good examples and some not so good. I discovered this method on YouTube while trying to find ways to control anxiety and stress. I highly recommend anything by Margaret M Lynch. Happy tapping and much health, happiness and prosperity be in your life.
I so agree with the phrase : “That’s why it’s so important to be who or what you strive to be now!” That visualization is so powerful it slowly gets into our subconsciousness. Try it!
Are you Margaret M Lynch yourself??

Q: “How are you showing up…..? How are you……..? What….?'
Ans: may be just present, be at present, live on present………
Right on Harv! The trick is to keep your focus on what you want inline with your values. I am closing on 2 apts. next week which took a lot of focus and guess what my neighbor wants out of his home for a song. He must have picked up my vib. Keep it coming, Dr. Matt Deegan
Journalling is a good tool to access all aspects of ourselves, especially when we are trying to overcome our inner critic/saboteur…. From years of journalling I have come to a place within myself where there is an inner child who holds the key to all our hopes, dreams and desires….. When we are feeling afraid and vulnerable, that is the time to express the hurt, wounded child within us and develop a loving and supportive relationships with it…. It is powerful to acknowledge the different personalities within you…. To hug and embrace your shadow and to journal your feelings and become comfortable with every part of your inner self/soul… This little book is recommended

You can also listen to Julia Cameron's videos on youtube *about journalling and morning pages.
Writing is a powerful tool for getting to know who you are, and what your purpose is, especially when you are listing goals and dreams you want to truly develop – the ego would prefer you get trapped in negativity and want things that won't fulfil you…. I could write for hours about this topic…. but would invite you to start today, write your own story, write the book of your life, and change the script by giving yourself the gift of time and energy to listen to what your heart and soul wants to reveal to you through the power of writing …. Started an Internet Marketing Company, working with others to do the same. Learned about passive/leveraged income, which was an eye opener, always traded time for money. 14 years in RE produced a good income (sometimes), but no service meant no money. Had enough and needed to move on with building an asset for myself. Plan is in place to retire in 3 yrs. Its not always easy to make changes, bu the end result out weighs the challenges. Take everyone and good luck with your endeavors.

My secret to overcoming anxiety and fear is staying in the moment and focusing on “what is” as opposed to what my mind tells me “could be”.
This is not an easy thing for me to do, because I am a Big picture/strategic person, and although this is one of my biggest strengths, it can also be one of my biggest weaknesses. Sometimes i get so focused on anticipating what could happen that I spend time over-preparing when the reality is, I could have just sufficiently prepared and then, had confidence that I could handle whatever came up. The lesson here is that Confidence can be a time saver!
Although it is important to prepare for the future, there is a difference between between preparing and dwelling on something that you don't know will ever happen… and rarely ever does it happen in the same way that was in your mind!
So, do take time to prepare-but not over-prepare — and have faith that you have everything it takes to handle whatever comes your way.
To your career success!

To endure is really difficulty but not impossible. It is what most self-help gurus forget to focus on – that in between the starting line to the finish line, there's the “flatliners” that may trigger some people to quit, to be impatient, to be frustrated…Endurance is the water that nourishes the roots to bear fruit… I don't know where to find the oasis for it though.
Meditate, meditate, meditate. The key lies within. Keeping my connection through meditation helps me stay focused, grounded and it facilitates an inner-peace that produces far more than just a millionaire mind-set. This heightened state of awareness keeps me in the “knowing” of having the power and vibrational energy to manifest anything that I desire.
Thanks Harv for being part of the lighted path!
Meditation. Visualization. Not watching the news or even scary movies. Man…life changes FAST when you take fear out of the equation. There's so much room for contribution, building, creating and sharing when you're not letting doubt and fear stop you from taking action.
Hi, Ida. Hang in there. I feel the same at times. We DO have it in us to take the action necessary to increase success around income, health, relationships, etc. You sound like you maybe haven't found the right vehicle yet to get you where you are going. You will. 🙂
T.Harv and several others have shared the way to go after those dreams.

How are you showing up in these difficult times? Reading like crazy! Wayne Dyer, Marianne Williamson, The Bible, Joyce Meyer, etc. What are some strategies or tricks you’ve employed to keep fear and anxiety at bay? My husband is a pessimist and his life has been a constant struggle. Lately, I postpone my morning call to him (he lives in another state) and instead focus on listening to audio books or Bible teachings on my way into my Corporate day job. My life has been progressing quite nicely. I am extremly grateful to God for good, sweet fruit!
This is all so true. Your results are what you grow them & your success around money is yours to control. Sometimes it is about going to the root of another just to get the right result. Check out Keith Cunningham's comments in this video. https://applyingwealtheducation…/
Harv, I went to your Millionaire Mind Seminar which was the most mind-blowing experience I've ever had that explained why the good things in my life were good and why the not so good things were not so good. I'm ready to go back again already!
