Why “Money” Is One Of The Greatest Teachers Of All Time

What’s fun about being a teacher is that after you’ve literally guided thousands along their journeys, you really do get to see it all and hear it all. It’s especially interesting when some of the my students try to pull one on me with my own material!
For example, I had a student remind me of my advice to admire and model rich and successful people. He said, “You say to model rich and successful people, but many gangsters were very rich and successful in their field. What does the word successful mean to you?”
You see what just happened there? If not, you will shortly.
But first, what difference does it make what successful means to me? What does success mean for you?
Ok, since he asked, I feel success means reaching the level that you intended to reach in any arena or achieving what you intended to achieve.
No one is going to tell you what success is.
If you asked me what it means when I say admire and model rich and successful people, I say model people who have achieved financial success and people who are successful in any arena so you can learn from them. That’s all it means. Learn from them.
Most people learn from broke, unsuccessful people. How do you know? Because most people are broke and unsuccessful. We got most of our information about success and wealth from people who aren’t successful and wealthy. What is that going to do for you? Model and admire rich and successful people.
Now, back to my Doubting Student. Of course I knew what he meant. He said, “There are many gangsters who are very rich and successful in their field.” But you see, he has the same cancer in his mind as 95% of everyone else who is not doing as well as they could be doing financially or in any other arena.
That is, “Rich people are bad.” That’s what he means. That’s what everybody means.
I asked him, “Who told you that?”
“There are a lot of rich gangsters.” So … are there not a lot of broke gangsters? I think there are more broke gangsters than rich gangsters.
Are there some rich people who are bad? Yes, there are some.
Are there some rich people who are good? Yes, there are some. I hope I’m one of them. I know thousands of others who are good.
Are there some broke people who are bad? Yes, I guess there are. There are a lot of broke people who are bad in the same way.
Are there some broke people who are good? Of course celebrexhome.com there are.
What on earth does it have to do with money? Nothing, except for some b.s. someone told you a long time ago that rich people are bad and greedy.
How many of them are good, caring, loving, family people? Ninety-five percent of them. In fact, that’s how they got rich.
If you’re an a-hole and you do get rich, there’s a good chance you won’t keep it. Who do you do business with, people you hate and distrust or people you like and trust? In business, which is where most people make their money, you’re going to go to the store and take the services of people you trust.
If someone is a jerk and they screw you, are you going to continue to do business with them?
Let’s take the converse. You start with somebody; they’re kind and generous in what they do for you. They do their job really well and help solve a problem for you. Are you going to go back to them? Of course you are, all the time. You’re going to give them your money and tell everybody else about them.
Nice, good, kind, trustworthy people who are in high integrity finish first. Anybody else who tells you otherwise is freaking broke; broken mentally, emotionally and financially.
It has nothing to do with rich or poor. Some people are good and some people are not so good. Some people are kind and some are not so kind.
Money is a great teacher. If you find in your quest for money that you’re turning into a prick, the universe put that in front of you for you to notice that. Now you have a way of making some changes and saying, “This quest for money is not going to take me out or make me an unkind person. In fact, I’m going to choose to be a very good person who gets rich.”
Choose to be a good person who gets rich so you can be a good model for all those people who mistakenly believe that rich people are bad.

For Your Freedom,

Rich and successful gangsters are successful at what they do. It doesn’t mean it is what they should be doing. Think of all the good they could do if they focused their mind on that.
Makes sense. Need to have the courage to keep connecting with rich and successful people.
Harv, this one is golden! Thanks for sharing it with us today. Money is just another form of energetic exchange in our world. We need it to survive and thrive, and we also need love, integrity, and gratitude which is what makes it all come together in a big beautiful bundle of joy. Peace to you.
Good successful people are a good example to be followed, indeed if we feel like getting rich too we gota mirror ourselves to those who are already rich. There is no possible way of succeeding in what we don’t like.
Please, do you have any material in Spanish?
You have representation in Colombia or other Spanish-speaking country?
That is absolutely true. In fact money brings out ones character.
So true… I once heard it said, “Money and alcohol simply magnify what’s in a person’s heart.”
that is so true curtis, we become more of who we really are when the inhibitions are released….
Money is not everything.but it is true that money is the key to open many doors.what door to open is your choice
I find it interesting that the general consensus is that rich people are bad, yet everyone I know aspires to be rich. The battle going on in their heads must be exhausting!
Having money doesn’t make me more valuable. I’m already enough. On the other hand, not having money doesn’t make me less valuable. I’m still enough whether I got it or I don’t. Although I’d rather have it!
Big one. Till I was 12 I was in a soviet country. All rich were presented bad: in fairytales, books, films, posters, everywhere. I believed everything. How can I reconvince myself to think otherwise?
One of the greatest lessons money has taught me so far is related to greed. As I started to aquire more success and money, I started to become addicted to it in an unhealthy (greedy) way. It was at that point that I had to step back and reevaluate the reasons why I wanted more success/money and, in doing so, my intentions have become more positively focused on providing value for my customers rather than just riches for myself.
Rather than so much concern for a damn Gangster’s plight in life I choose to learn the money game so I can win!!! Thus ripple effect the chances to network with other good millionaires to flood the world with our passions and greatness. I say power to the wise people with big hearts who intend to love and do the right things with money.
great.
Fury makes money fly away.
