Why “Money” Is One Of The Greatest Teachers Of All Time

cash with a graduation hat on top

What’s fun about being a teacher is that after you’ve literally guided thousands along their journeys, you really do get to see it all and hear it all. It’s especially interesting when some of the my students try to pull one on me with my own material!

For example, I had a student remind me of my advice to admire and model rich and successful people. He said, “You say to model rich and successful people, but many gangsters were very rich and successful in their field. What does the word successful mean to you?”

You see what just happened there? If not, you will shortly.

But first, what difference does it make what successful means to me? What does success mean for you?

Ok, since he asked, I feel success means reaching the level that you intended to reach in any arena or achieving what you intended to achieve.

No one is going to tell you what success is.

If you asked me what it means when I say admire and model rich and successful people, I say model people who have achieved financial success and people who are successful in any arena so you can learn from them. That’s all it means. Learn from them.

Most people learn from broke, unsuccessful people. How do you know? Because most people are broke and unsuccessful. We got most of our information about success and wealth from people who aren’t successful and wealthy. What is that going to do for you? Model and admire rich and successful people.

Now, back to my Doubting Student. Of course I knew what he meant. He said, “There are many gangsters who are very rich and successful in their field.” But you see, he has the same cancer in his mind as 95% of everyone else who is not doing as well as they could be doing financially or in any other arena.

That is, “Rich people are bad.” That’s what he means. That’s what everybody means.

I asked him, “Who told you that?”

“There are a lot of rich gangsters.” So … are there not a lot of broke gangsters? I think there are more broke gangsters than rich gangsters.

Are there some rich people who are bad? Yes, there are some.

Are there some rich people who are good? Yes, there are some. I hope I’m one of them. I know thousands of others who are good.

Are there some broke people who are bad? Yes, I guess there are. There are a lot of broke people who are bad in the same way.

Are there some broke people who are good? Of course celebrexhome.com there are.

What on earth does it have to do with money? Nothing, except for some b.s. someone told you a long time ago that rich people are bad and greedy.

How many of them are good, caring, loving, family people? Ninety-five percent of them. In fact, that’s how they got rich.

If you’re an a-hole and you do get rich, there’s a good chance you won’t keep it. Who do you do business with, people you hate and distrust or people you like and trust? In business, which is where most people make their money, you’re going to go to the store and take the services of people you trust.

If someone is a jerk and they screw you, are you going to continue to do business with them?

Let’s take the converse. You start with somebody; they’re kind and generous in what they do for you. They do their job really well and help solve a problem for you. Are you going to go back to them? Of course you are, all the time. You’re going to give them your money and tell everybody else about them.

Nice, good, kind, trustworthy people who are in high integrity finish first. Anybody else who tells you otherwise is freaking broke; broken mentally, emotionally and financially.

It has nothing to do with rich or poor. Some people are good and some people are not so good. Some people are kind and some are not so kind.

Money is a great teacher. If you find in your quest for money that you’re turning into a prick, the universe put that in front of you for you to notice that. Now you have a way of making some changes and saying, “This quest for money is not going to take me out or make me an unkind person. In fact, I’m going to choose to be a very good person who gets rich.”

Choose to be a good person who gets rich so you can be a good model for all those people who mistakenly believe that rich people are bad.

What lessons have money (or lack thereof) taught you along your journey? Share your stories with us…we want to hear from you!

As I mentioned, it’s very important to model rich
and successful people.

3 Common Reasons Why Most People Self-Sabotage Their Own Success

two cartoon women arm wrestling

If you’re not doing as well as you’d like to be doing, you are sabotaging yourself.

There’s only one thing that can make your success: you.

“No, Harv, you don’t understand. It’s my boss.” Forget about your boss. Your boss doesn’t run your life.

“You don’t understand. It’s my wife and my kids.” Forget about your wife and your kids. Well, no, actually, don’t do that, but you know what I mean. Rather, stop putting this on them. They don’t create your life. You do.

“You don’t understand. I come from ____.” Who cares where you come from? Where are you today? Where do you want to be tomorrow?

My friends…you create every minute of your life. It may not be exactly what you want, but that’s what you’re creating.

You’re creating it because that’s what you’ve always created. You’re good at it, so you create that. If you’re not rich, realize “I’m creating not rich for myself.” That means you’re sabotaging yourself.

Here’s the way I look at it. Imagine a stream. The stream goes from the mountains all the way down to the ocean. It would naturally be successful at getting to the ocean.

There’s only one problem. A huge log falls in the middle of the stream. It can’t get over the log. Little trickles are getting through, but that’s about it. Then other logs fall. Pretty soon the stream is completely redirected, and it’s not going where it’s supposed to go. It just dries up. Everything was perfect until the blockage came.

Without the blockage, every one of you is going to be successful. The reason you’re not as successful as you’d like to be, is because something is blocking you. That something is you.

What part of you is the only question we have to answer. How are you blocking yourself? How do you stop yourself from getting rich? How are you creating that?

I wish that somebody would have pulled me aside when I was 20 years old, shook me up and said, “You’re creating the problems you’ve got. It’s not them, it or that. It’s you. That means you have the power to un-create those and create something else.” When I learned that I truly created my life, I became free.

If you are sabotaging yourself, there are different payoffs. The most common are:

1. You remain a victim. Victims can’t succeed. If they succeed, they can’t be a good victim. This is their way of getting attention. There’s always something wrong. “Feel sorry for me.” That way, nothing can be expected of them yet they get to enjoy the benefit of your pity, which then only reinforces the whole story.

2. If we don’t succeed, there aren’t a lot of expectations or responsibilities. I’ll put a spin on a decades-old Stan Lee comic book line: With great freedom comes great responsibility. If you want to be financially free, you gotta actually do what you say you’re going to do! You have to be accountable; to yourself and to others. What if we really succeed? How are we going to keep it up? Oh my god! That’s hard! What if people want things from you? When you decide that you are going to follow through on your commitments, and you do this consistently, that is the essence of spiritual maturity and a discipline for success.

3. Fatal attraction. People fear success so irrationally, they imagine bad things happening instead of focusing on the key term here: success! “I don’t have to worry about people robbing me.” Seriously? Like you’re so important now that the criminal underworld has you in its clutches? Please! “I don’t have to have my friends saying, ‘Who the hell do you think you are?’” Other people’s approval is all of a sudden more important than the quality of your mental, emotional, and financial life?

Your mind is telling you the conditions as to why you are not successful. It’s all bullshit. Nothing is more important than succeeding with what you’ve got going right now.

What’s your payoff for not being rich right now? What do you get out of it?

Whatever that reason you keep telling yourself why you can’t be rich right now, ask yourself, “Is it true?”

How To Have Balance Between Left-Brain and Right-Brain Dominance…Without Feeling Unnatural and Setting Yourself Up To Fail

left and right brain artwork

No doubt you’ve heard of this thing called left-brain or right-brain dominant, yes?

We all have a bit of both in us, but almost every single person leans toward one of the sides of the brain as their more active element.

If you are more of a left-brain thinker, you will tend to be more logical, structured, linear and routine-oriented than a right-brain thinker who’s more circular, less structured and more free-flowing.

People who are a little more on the right side of things, like me, my daughter and my son, want to get things done, and we understand that we need structure, so we try it.

“I’m going to get up at 6:30 a.m. I’m going to go to the bathroom, work out and meditate. At 8:00 I’m going to have breakfast.”

“At 9:00 I’m going to be at the computer, and I’m only going to do emails until 10:00. Then I’m going to start on this project. Then I’m going to make this call.”

“In the afternoon, I’m going to work on this other project. I’m only going to do emails from 4:00 to 5:00. Then I’m going to have dinner at 6:00.”

Ah, such wonderful intentions. Can anybody relate to this? You know what happens …

We get up at 6:30 a.m. because the alarm rings. We’re so tired. “I’m not going to be able to have a good day if I’m this tired. I should sleep for another half an hour,” so we sometimes do.

Then we’re up. “I’m so busy, and I’m late. I need to work out, but I have to get on this project.” We jump on the computer and there’s emails right in front of us, a couple of major ones. We have to answer them.

Before we know it, it’s 9:00. We’re hormonal and starving. You get the idea.

For many of us right-brained people, this whole thing just doesn’t work. The same holds trying to get left-brained people to chill and be spontaneous.

What can work for us? How can right-brained folks take advantage of the structure of left-brained thinking, and left-brained people to let it all go, without feeling like it’s all too un-natural?

You left-brained folks who structure every minute and stick to it like it’s written in stone are not going to like this, but if you don’t let go of control once in a while, you are missing the creative magic of life! You may be way too rigid. You’ve put a stranglehold on what’s possible.

Leave one hour per day unstructured, and do whatever you feel like in that hour, whether it’s personal or with your husband, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend or kids; going for a walk or run or whatever. It doesn’t matter.

This hour is completely unstructured. Every day you do whatever you feel like doing at the time. In fact, don’t even think about what you’re going to do until you get there. Just allow the universe to come through you.

How about the people like me who struggle with routine and structure, the right-brained crowd? Here’s what I’d like to suggest to you. You must have a little structure if you’re ever going to accomplish anything of significance, but within that structure you go with the flow.

Now what does that mean? Simple: write down three things that you are intending to do for that day that are very important to do that day. That’s structure enough for folks who tend to free-wheel.

What I like to do is say that I’m going to complete one business thing, one health thing–whether it’s working out, running, lifting some weights or whatever it is– and something like calling one of my family members, usually my mom. That’s the only three things. That gives me a starting point. At least I know that the three most important things for me will be done, so I do them.

If you are a non-structured person and you continue to strangle yourself with major structure, all you’re doing is giving yourself a reason to beat yourself up. The same goes for structured people who don’t function in the chaos that comes with spontaneity.

If you are doing something that you know doesn’t work for you, you are setting yourself up to fail. The reason you’re doing that is so your mind has a reason to beat you up.

Go with your flow and your energetic way of being in the world.

Stop Waiting For Life To Occur… Life Is Now, Live It

relax breath and smile artwork

We live in a big ole universe. If you stop to think about how vast reality really is, you might go a little nuts … or maybe become fully enlightened, depending on the day.

Figuring out how we tie into this all can easily lead to complicated thinking. One of the only things you really need to know, though, is that you’re not separate from anything. Everything is connected, including you and I.

Attraction is real! It’s our thinking and actions that determine what comes into our lives, and what keeps itself away that could actually be good for us, unfortunately at times without us realizing that we’re doing that to ourselves!

For example, some people believe that, first, they have to become a certain kind of person in order to be able to attract what they’d like to have, like a great intimate relationship for instance.

Wow! That’s pretty deep, huh?

It’s all good, except for one little part: the condition that says “First I have to be this or that.” That’s called waiting for life to occur. That’s called means-to-an-end thinking. “First I have to do this, then I can have that.”

That doesn’t work, my friends. When you put conditions on what can come into your life, your mind will never let you feel like you’re enough. You don’t feel like you’re enough already, so that’s exactly what you’re going to get: not enough.

“When I’m better, then I can attract the right (girl or guy). The person I am right now is not enough.” Guess what, my friend? That’s a habitual mindset. That’s a mind pattern that will never leave you.

No matter where you go or who you’re with or how you do, your mind will always tell you, “You’re not ready. You’re not enough. If I just have six more months of working on myself, can you imagine the kind of (woman or man) that I’m going to attract? What about if I work on myself for another year and a half?”

Here’s a fact: Life is now. Life is not, “When I’m perfect, that’s when I can have the right romantic relationship.”

Stop waiting. Be open right now for the universe to unfold in front of you. Be open for the right situation to come your way. Just go with the flow.

You don’t have to be perfect to attract the right person for you.

By the way, if you’re www.healthandrecoveryinstitute.com/soma-carisoprodol-muscle-relaxant/ looking for the perfect woman or man and you’re not, you’re screwed. That’s all future-based thinking. It is not real because only the present is real.

There’s a hidden payoff in sabotaging yourself like this: not succeeding at something. What a great excuse you’ve given yourself. What a great reason for not being able to find the right one for you.

In fact, that’s the gold medal of reasons. It keeps you stuck even though that agony is painful because deep down inside you know you’re ready for the success you’re looking for.

I’m not saying that we shouldn’t continue striving to be better than we know we can be. But for goodness sake don’t beat yourself up for every little flaw, or even the big ones for that matter!

Let go of all that. You don’t need to completely structure every second of how this is going to work for you. Say to yourself, “I am open to finding the right person in my life when that person comes, and the universe unfolds for me.”

If you’ve found the right person for yourself, replace person with…business, job, career, friends, whatever you want, I’m using the “right person” as an example to illustrate this way of thinking.

Be open. Smile and relax. Chill out.

You’re the right person, right now. You’re good enough as you are. Can you improve? Of course. We can always improve. Once you really get this, you’ll understand forward progress without making your happiness depend upon it.

The most important thing you can learn is that dwelling on the “if I” and “when I” and “it would be better if” or “if I had that, then I would” takes you out of the present moment.

Thinking about the perfect future is what stops you from having the perfect present. It’s the only thing that stops you.

For Your Freedom,

Here’s Why You’re Never Too Young Or Too Old To Be A Success

elderly couple smiling together

I’m really bad at a lot of things, but I’m also decent at certain things. One of the things I happen to be pretty decent at is listening to specific words that people use when they’re asking me questions.

For those people who start the path towards prosperity later in life, I often hear them say they feel “it’s too little, too late.” In other words, they feel like they have lost too much time, and now they won’t or can’t have the impact they want on their financial lives.

This is what the mind says because it knows this phrase works to keep people from doing anything different than what they’ve been doing for a long time. It keeps people safe. The problem is it also keeps people unbalanced and unhappy. It keeps you in the Ego-mind’s grip.

You say, “I’m not happy and successful. It’s too little, too late. It’s not even worth trying now.” Now you look to your mind to help you get out of your problem. By looking to your mind, it stays in control. This is how it operates. It’s insidious and slick. It’ll do whatever it takes to keep you attached to it.

Believe in your higher, true, most enlightened self. Believe in the potential you have.

The idea that it’s too little, too late is absolutely ludicrous. I mean, how do you know?

Just do a bit of research. Let’s say you’re over 50. I want you to Google “people who got rich over 50.” You’re going to find a million of them.

Let’s say you’re over 60. Google that. You’re going to find a million of those, too. Let’s say you’re over 70. Google that. You’re going to get tens of thousands of people coming up.

I have over a million students. I have students who are 9 years old and 94 years old who are still trying to do the best with their lives. If they can do it, you can do it.

Once you get on the right track, it doesn’t take very long to become successful. I’ve always said three to five years, and that’s it. If you’re still working hard after five years, you went off track. You didn’t systemize it, leverage it or set it up in the right way. That’s okay. You always have time to restructure it again.

And no matter what, everything is okay as long as you’re happy, yes or frickin’ yes?

The bottom line is it doesn’t necessarily zolpidemsleep.com take a long time to do very well financially. I came from being completely broke. I borrowed $2,000 on my Visa card. Two and a half years later, I was a millionaire. Thirty months is not a long time after 12 years of being broke and hoping to have a decent meal for dinner.

Do you think that’s a long time?

Don’t talk to me about too little, too late. That’s made up. I hope that if you’re in this kind of situation, no matter what your age, you’re not putting that out into the world for everybody else to feel, too.

Just keep these two things in mind:

1. If you get in the right niche with the right skills, it can come very quickly. Getting into the right niche means confidently, intimately knowing how you and you alone can solve a specific problem for people you know well because you know your passion about this problem. It means something to you, and those people you help will know it, too.

2. Have some faith. Miracles do occur. The only question is will they occur for you? Miracles occur every minute of every day for hundreds of thousands of people around the world. Will you be one of them?

It’s simple: Expect miracles. Understand that miracles are just things that we don’t fully comprehend that the universe is doing for us and with the timing that’s best for us.

When your business starts to fly, press on the gas and watch what happens. You will laugh at yourself for ever thinking it can ever be too little, too late.

Wipe that out of your vocabulary. It’s just your mind doing what it knows works on you. Just say to your mind, “Thank you for sharing, but I trust myself. I’m going to let the universe unfold for me.” Then you do what you have to do, and let the universe do what it has to do.

A simple system to learn exactly how you can design and create your ultimate life….no matter what your age.
