Why Chaos In Your Life Is Essential To True Growth And Ultimate Success

wall full of multi colored sticky notes

I think more than a few of us have experienced bits of Murphy’s Law…that as things start to improve in your life, chaos and craziness starts to occur, yes?

Most people will have that go through.

Why is that? What’s happening?

Well, it comes down to everything being energy.

As you’re changing and improving your life you are moving from an old habit of energy at one level of vibration into a completely new and different level of vibration.

It’s a different looking energy.

There’s a resonance between those two energies, and the separation between the new and the old, the space in-between, is unusual and often uncomfortable.

And you’re not just going to drop the old energy overnight. It doesn’t happen that way. It doesn’t even happen in a week or a month. The old energy patterns are still there, and it’s easy to get back to them.

It’s perfectly normal. You’ve shaken things up. But even more fundamental than that: if you have no chaos in your life, you might as well be dead. You’re flat lining. You’re so freaking normal and boring that you’re not growing.

If you have no chaos in your life, you are not growing because growth means chaos.

About once a month I have this thought that goes in my head. The thought is, “Take a deep breath, Harv, because it’s coming.” I’m not installing anything negative, but I know chaos is coming.

Every single time I start the Wizard pattern, stuff comes up and says, “Really? You think you’re a Wizard? Watch this, and see how good you are now, buddy.” It’s like a test, and I know it’s coming.

I used to be pissed off about it. I used to stay away from trying to live in a Wizard mentality because I didn’t want it to happen, but now I say, “It’s just proof that I’m growing.”

The test says, “If you think you’re a good hitter in baseball, I’m going to stop throwing you underhand lobs and I’m going to start throwing you overhand pitches. Then I’m going to start throwing faster and faster, and maybe one day you’ll get into the big leagues.”

Nobody’s telling you that you have to get rich. Nobody’s telling you that you have to be super happy. Nobody’s telling you that you have to be the best person. Nobody is saying that—only you. Do you want it? Then guess what: Chaos comes with it.

Before order comes chaos. Every time you are reordering, you will go through the process called chaos. Chaos is good. Confusion is part of chaos. You have shaken up the energy. Keep going, keep doing it, and do not give up. Keep shaking it up.

Then what’s going to happen? You’re going to come to a new resonance, a new energy. You’re going to get to a new order. Good for you, but then guess what’s going to happen? You get stuck there unless you go for something bigger, better, higher and faster. Then what? Chaos!

You’ve got to get this mantra into your bones: I love chaos.

That’s the Wizard’s principle. “I am comfortable with chaos, ambiguity and the unknown.”

You see, it’s just your little monkey mind that wants to know every single thing, how it’s going to turn out, and have everything in order and in control. It’s just fear, but it’s okay. It’s a state of your mind. You can change that.

Say, “Thank you for sharing. This is a good thing. Just chill out and everything will be fine. Let’s keep going.” That’s it. Some crazy shit may happen to you, but take a nice, deep breath and keep going because at one point in time you’re going to get to a new place.

When you get to that new place, you’re still going to be rough around the edges, but you’re going to be at a Level 8 instead of a Level 5. That’s a different game. Keep playing.

We welcome you to share your stories of order out of chaos, growth and change from stagnation and boredom. You never know how your experiences can have a remarkable impact on others. We want to hear from you!

For Your Freedom,

How To Find Your Passion And Mission To Millions

Do what you love what you do artwork

I get asked a lot about passion. Lots of people simply don’t know what their passions are; what it is that they’re most passionate about.

Just keep this in mind: Opportunity lies where your pleasure, passion or skill intersects with other people’s pain or problem.

“Great, Harv, thanks, but what the heck does that mean?”

I’m saying that if you find yourself having this problem of trying to figure out what your passion is, approach it from the opposite direction. Instead of asking, “What’s my passion,” ask, “How can I help people?”

Here’s another question: “How would I love to help people?”

I remember talking about this exact thing in our program. When I would talk to somebody in the front I would say, “How can you help?” They would say, “By sharing landscaping ideas.” Then I would go to the next person and say, “How can you help?” They would say, “By taking people on underwater tours.”

I would ask someone else…“By showing people how to use a computer.”

“…by fixing their little radios and things like that. I’m great with my hands.”

It was like … in a second, they just came up with answers. It’s because it’s a spiritual connection. The way that you can really help people generally is what you’re passionate about, but we tend to put this big charge on the word passion.

Do you think you can help people in an area you have no interest in? Of course not, so stop asking the question “What’s my passion?” and start putting your energy and focus on other people and helping them.

I’ve had people ask me to help them find their passion and then create a business around it. What do you think the business is going to be, your passion? No! The business is not your passion.

The business is the value you give to others, and they pay you for it. The business is the problem you’re solving for them. The business is the pain that’s being alleviated by you.

I teach success. Why? I think that’s my purpose in life. Why? I wanted to be successful, but I had such a hard time with success. I had so many problems around it, so many crappy feelings, and so many issues that challenged me in my life. The day I was able to overcome those challenges and feelings I felt like it was my duty to help others.

The question is: did the chicken or the egg come first? What happened? Was it that this was my destiny all the time, to teach success, so I had to go through all of the crap for all of those years so I could teach it better? Or, did I go through all of that crap and from that problem I overcame it, and that became my purpose? I don’t know, and quite frankly, I don’t care.

I do know this: they seem to have coincided somehow–opportunity resided where my skill and learnings intersected with other people’s problems with success. The biggest challenge I had when I was young turned out to be my greatest gift and the way I can help people the best.

Thank God that when I started becoming more successful I loved writing all of the courses. I loved writing my Warrior and Wizard programs and Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind book, but the one that was surprising to me to write, and that I couldn’t believe how much I was enjoying, was Life Directions. It was almost like it was it was just coming through me.

In this case, the passion came after the decision that this was how I was going to help people. Maybe it’ll be the other way around for you. Very often if you’re having a hard time finding a direction, when you do find it, that might be your gift.

So just keep these two things in mind every time you’re worried about finding your passion:

1. Step outside of that thinking for a moment and consider how it is you can best help others.

2. If you’re stuck even with that question, consider what challenges in life you are or have been hell-bent on overcoming. There’s certainly passion in that!

Tell us what’s on your mind. What are some challenges that you’ve overcome in your life, or are trying to overcome? How could you translate that into a business? Or how did you translate that into success? We want to hear from you!

For Your Freedom,

Why Being Best Friends With Yourself Is Crucial To Happiness and Success

love yourself written in sand on beach

I’ve spent the better portion of my life, over 40 years, in high-achievement mode. I’ve definitely been trained to prepare, think, be logical, fight, be the warrior and do whatever it takes.

Yet, the more I learn about the Wizard in me, the more I learn about being in the present moment, the better I do, and the less stress I have.

Being committed to success is one thing, but it isn’t your life. If it is your life, you’ve got a big problem because what if you’re not as successful as you’d like to be?

Let me tell you that after over 40 years and being successful for 30 of those years, I know the difference in the mistakes I made before when I was broke versus how I am now, which is a lot richer and a lot happier.

Yes, being committed is helpful. Doing whatever it takes is helpful, but equating it to your life esteem, self-worth or worthiness is not appropriate, and that’s what I was doing.

Life is life, and you need to be grateful for every moment that you have, whether you’re ultra-successful, moderately successful, a little successful or not very successful at all. You need to be grateful for the breath that you’re getting.

When you’re grateful and happy with where you are no matter what level of success you’re at, you will emit and express an energy of happiness. That’s a high energy, and people will want to be around you. You will attract people toward you. Remember, where do you get all of your money? You get it from other people.

Money is challenging to get when you’re a jerk. Money is challenging to get when you’re in fear. Money is challenging to get when you’re overly stressed and nobody wants to be around you.

Today I can smell it on people because I’m successful. I can smell the fear, the lack of confidence, and the lack of self-esteem. You’re either attracting people or you are repelling them. It’s one or the other.

Maybe you’re saying, “Harv, you’re talking to me. What should I do?”

Make Friends With Yourself.

Think about it. If you had a friend that treated you the way that you treat you, you would never be their friend. If you had a friend that kept on putting you down as your mind does; a friend that kept on hurrying you or a friend that kept on looking for what’s wrong with you, would you be their friend? NEVER.

You would think this person is a jerk, but it’s okay if you do it, right? No, it’s not okay.

The fact is most of us don’t know about friendship with ourselves, especially unconditional friendship with ourselves.

From here on in, put down the stick. Drop the whip. Whips don’t work. Sticks don’t work. Stop beating yourself up with what you think you should be like, could be like, what it would be nice to be like, or all these expectations that you have of yourself. Be kind to yourself.

People say to me all of the time, “Harv, how do I be successful?” I say, “If you want to be a success, then you need to be the success. You need to smell like a success.”

That doesn’t mean a lot of money right this minute necessarily. That doesn’t mean a perfect life right now necessarily. It means I’m okay, as I am, right here right now. I’m good. It’s all good. Life is good. I appreciate it. I’m grateful for it. I focus on the good in my life not the bad.

Whether it takes a little longer or a little shorter, sincerely being your best friend is going to start to empower you, and that empowerment is going to bring out an energy of success in you. When you have that…new ideas, new people, and new opportunities will come to you.

Stop Waiting To Manage Your Money… The Habit Is More Important Than The Amount

jars with labels and artwork

At my Millionaire Mind Intensive course, and in part of my book Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, I teach a very effective money management method called the JARS system.

Basically, using this system, you split your money up into six different accounts, and you have percentages of your money to put into each account. You can use bank accounts or actual jars.

So what are these jars and what percentage of your income goes into them?

1. Put 55% of your income into NEC or Necessities: rent, food, gas, bills, etc.

2. 10% in Long-Term Savings for Spending, otherwise known as the rainy-day fund. Or maybe there’s a car or some other big-ticket item you want to buy. This fund is your most flexible in terms of what you can do with it, but the intention is to do something with it, or that it be there for that just-in-case scenario.

3. 10% for Play. This is for leisurely expenses including sports, movies, general activity and entertainment. Make to sure to spend ALL your play money each month spoiling yourself!

4. 10% for Education. Books, courses, mentoring, coaching, etc. Always educate yourself.

5. 10% for FFA or Financial Freedom Account. This is for investing or anything that is going to make this portion of your money work for you toward passive income streams.

6. 5% for Giving. It’s spiritually, ethically, and morally sound practice to give a portion of your earnings toward causes that can use the funding to educate or somehow better other people’s lives.

A lot of people say, “I’d love to do that, but I can’t do it because not enough money is coming in” …or “My expenses are too high, there is no way I can do these percentages.”

If you’ve been with me long enough, you know what I’m going to say to that, yes?

Bullsh*t!

Am I saying you have to put $1,000 into your accounts every day? No, I didn’t say that.

How come I’m not suggesting a specific amount but certain percentages? So that every single person, regardless if they’re earning $100,000 a week or $1 dollar a week, can do the system. Yes, if you are earning $1 dollar a week, you can do this system.

The habit is much, much more important than the amount.

I don’t care if you’re managing $100,000, $1,000, $100, $10, $1 or 10 cents. All that matters is you manage whatever money you have.

A lot of you right now are thinking, “I’m not earning a lot of money. I don’t even know how I could do this.”

At the Millionaire Mind Intensive, you’ll hear a story about Michelle Burr. She was broke when she came to the course.

She said the money management portion was the thing that resonated with her. She didn’t know how to manage it, and she didn’t have any money to manage.

What did she do? She took $1 and divided it into nickels, dimes and pennies. She put them into the six different jars I recommend. She had 10 cents to play with, so she went to the store and bought some bubble gum. She read the comic in the bubble gum and laughed. That was as much as she could play with at the time.

She saw that it wasn’t going to be enough, so she made it a point that every week she was going to double the amount she was putting in the jars. The first week she put in $1. The next week she managed $2, and so on and so forth. Twenty weeks later, she was managing $100.

Here’s the thing. The way the universe works is if you manage your money, you will get more. If you mismanage your money, you will not get any more.

The fastest way to do well with money is to manage the money that you have well. Just show the universe you know how to manage $1. Then watch what happens in your life. Miracles do happen.

Don’t give me the BS of, “I don’t have any money to manage.” That’s the way broke people talk.

Fast forward. Let’s see how Michelle is doing today. She is a self-made woman. She never gets a dime from anybody else.

Michelle has made many investments in real estate and other things. Michelle is a multimillionaire today. It wasn’t very long ago she was managing $1.

Don’t give me any bs about how you can’t do this.

Decide right now: are you going to get 6 jars and start managing your money today?

Let us know. Declare your intentions to the universe that you are going to turn your finances around right now and let us know how it’s going. We want to hear from you!

The Best Ways To Turn Your Money Into Passive Income

passive income relaxing on the beach

I often come across students with a chunk of savings who want to know the best way to turn that around into a passive income stream.

In our terminology we’d call that the FFA: the Financial Freedom Account. In that sense, it almost doesn’t matter what you do with a chunk of savings like that as long as it’s money that’s going to work for you.

If you know that your book publishing is going to be a passive income structure, then go ahead and use it. If you know you’re going to open up a business that’s going to be systematized and leveraged eventually, and you’re going to have passive income coming from there, go for it.

If you can create a situation where you’re investing and that works, then use some of it there. Anything you can do that creates financial freedom through passive income or capitalized investment income is fine.

Now let’s get to the longer part of the story here. People lose money and make money in all kinds of investing, whether in a business, stocks, real estate, etc. Everyone is different.

There’s no system of investing that will work for everyone. Why? In my experience, people are the ones who screw up the system–it’s not the system that’s so bad.

A lot of people lose money in the system because a lot of people have terrible ways of thinking around money. They sabotage themselves and don’t follow the system.

Eighty percent of people in business lose everything. Is it the business or them? It’s them. Eighty percent of people who do anything fail at it. Is it the thing or them? It’s them.

So the answer is decide on something you want to get good at.

Here’s how you decide on how to turn your money into passive income:

1. Are other people doing well? The only way to know if a system works is if its developers are making money. If there are some people making money with it, then it works. “Yes, but it’s not the majority.” That’s right. If you notice, the majority is broke.

2. Does it resonate with you? What do you feel? If you don’t want to invest in stocks, don’t do it. My investment in stocks themselves is minimal in comparison to other investments that I’ve done.

Why? I’m just not the biggest fan of stocks. Some people love ’em. I just don’t have time to do a system, run it properly and all that. I have other favorite investments that resonate with me. They’re not for everybody.

Let me give you one investment that I like that you might hate: real estate. First of all, it’s generally not as manipulated as the stock market. Manipulated means these massive companies manipulating stock prices based on whether they’re buying or selling.

I’m not saying they’re bad or good, but some of these big companies will tell all their brokers around the world to sell XYZ stock today, and they all do. Then when it’s down, they buy it.

I don’t like that whole game. I’m not saying everybody does it. Can you still make money with stocks? Absolutely you can. A lot of people do, but I like real estate.

I like real estate because first of all, I can touch it. Second, I like looking at it. Third, over the long run it will always go up. It’s a passive income structure if you buy it for positive cash flow right from the very beginning.

You say, “I don’t have a lot of money for that.” Learn how to buy positive cash flow real estate. Then learn how to buy it with very little of your own money.

The key word here is LEARN. You can learn anything and a lot of times you can learn enough for free or next to nothing.

So LEARN real estate. It’s not that hard.

LEARN stock systems. Find one’s that people do well with.

LEARN how to systemize your business.

A journey of a thousand miles starts with ONE STEP. Learning for most is the first one.

What are your thoughts and experiences with investments? If you want to invest but don’t, what holds you back?

While these sharings aren’t intended as sound investing advice, there’s a lot we can learn from each other that can perhaps guide us along our collective journey to greater financial freedom. We want to hear from you!
