Discover Why Almost All Successful People Have This One Characteristic In Place

silhouette of people throwing someone in air

One of the most important characteristics that have to be in place for you to be successful as a person is integrity. If you don’t have that, you are absolutely screwed.

First of all, you’ll never be rich for long. If you get rich without being in integrity, you’re going to lose it. It’s as simple as that. Secondly, you won’t be able to live with yourself.

The definition of integrity if you look it up in a dictionary is basically whole and complete. The dictionary’s going to give you a couple of other ways that the word is used, including doing what you say you are going to do and finishing what you start.

If you do those two things, you will be rich, you’ll be successful, and you’ll be happy.

If you aren’t going to do what you say you’re going to do, don’t fricking say you’ll do it!

If you want to be successful, if you want to be rich, and if you want to have a good relationship with anybody, the absolute number one thing is trust.

It’s not okay that you’re late. It’s not okay that you don’t keep your commitment or your word. If you don’t keep your word, people are going to naturally think you’re unreliable, you’re rude and you cannot be trusted. They’re not going to want to do business with you. They might give you one more chance but you think they’re not going to remember that? Trust is lost in buckets and gained in drops.

When you don’t keep your word, in the same way that an outside, other person doesn’t trust you anymore and thinks you’re unreliable and untrustworthy, you think exactly the same thing about yourself now.

Your conditioned mind will say, “You’re untrustworthy. You’re unreliable. I can’t take what you say as gospel anymore. I don’t believe you anymore.”

If you don’t do what you say you’re going to do, you are essentially giving the message to the universe that what you say is garbage in the universe. If you want to have the life you want, your word needs to become law. What you say needs to actually happen in the universe.

It’s so simple, because all you have to do is do what you say. By doing this you are practicing the process of manifestation. Here’s how; the universe will start to get the message that what you say comes true. This is showing the universe that you are trustworthy and in return the universe will start to make what you say happen. Consequently, the opposite is true as well.

You’ve got to be a good partner for the universe!

So where do you start?

You’ve got to start with mini steps; mini commitments, a mini word and keep it. In other words, make it easy to keep your word. Don’t make it hard because if you make it hard, and you happen to slip yet again, you’re just going to go teach yourself and the universe that your word is worth shit, whether it’s true or not. How we feel is often our reality.

What do you start with? You start with the simplest things; the first action of something so that you can win, so you can keep your word to the universe and gain some momentum.

Some people say, “I want to be a multi-millionaire,” but today they’re broke and last year they earned $10,000. There’s a big leap of faith in the universe and in yourself, there. I’m not saying don’t go for it, but I would say slow down a bit there!

A more reasonable goal, to stay on this track, is to maybe say, “Today I’m going to start managing my money properly.” Now you’re budgeting, saving, and then maybe think about investments. See how that goes before you start promising yourself and others millions.

Start on the small things and build integrity. Make them easy to attain, no matter what area of life we’re talking about, so you get some momentum, progress and reliability on your side.

Tell us what you think. What are your experiences with integrity in important situations, either as a lapsed integrity on your side or when someone else didn’t hold up their end?

Share your stories, we want to hear from you!

Why Focusing On A Problem Will Make It Almost Impossible To Solve

lightbulbs drawn on a chalk board

Not that long ago, I had an issue where I ran an ad that I wrote myself, and I thought it was a very strong ad for my Millionaire Mind Intensive program. We put a lot of time, energy and money into it.

We ran the ad for three days. After the first day we got no calls. Half the second day is gone and not one call. I’m thinking, “What the hell is this? The ad must be shit!”

Of course my first impulse was to go into stress mode, but instead of sitting around trying to figure out what went wrong, we just bumped up our other advertising avenues and rallied to get as much notice out for the event as quickly as we could.

Once that settled down and the freaking-out ceased, I got a phone call from an old acquaintance of mine saying, “Harv, I saw your ad. I called the 800-number, and it goes to nothing. There’s no answer. There’s no ringing. It’s silent.” I phoned the number myself, and sure enough nothing but silence. Turns out there was a screw up with the phone company.

The first lesson here is that when something goes wrong, don’t immediately assume it’s your fault. But bigger than that, when something goes wrong, forget about who’s to blame. Jump into creative problem-solving mode.

You need to look at a problem in order to have a solution. That means being somewhat distant from it. But what do most people do? We look for problems, or rather, why a problem is what it is. In other words, sometimes we create problems where there may be no problem at all.

Like I said, I think I’m pretty good at marketing, and I’ve had decent success. So when I write what I think is great advertising and get zero results from it, yeah my pride takes a hit! Like anybody, my first instinct was to go to “What did I do wrong?”

Luckily, I also have years of experience to let me remember that yeah, sometimes shit happens at the worst moments! Freaking out, getting mad, or being upset does nothing but make things go from bad to worse. Now, my automatic response is to not linger on the problem for too long. Frick the problem and let’s find a solution!

Most of the time we’re still in the problem when we’re looking for its answer. We’re still in that negative place imagining what it’s like outside. The way to think outside the box is to get a whole different box. That means leaving the “why” a problem is what it is, and focusing solely on how to solve it.

Stay focused on what you want–the goal–and solutions arise as long as you don’t let the freak out take over. It’s been one of my ultimate learnings in my career and my life: you have to trust yourself and trust that you can figure things out even in the worst of moments.

I’m not saying don’t work on important issues when something is consistently not working. The phone company in the example above needs to work! But don’t spend all of your time on the issue. Spend your time on creating new paths for yourself.

Having alternatives means that when things don’t go your way, you give yourself increased opportunities for reaching the same outcome, just maybe in a different way than you may have originally thought.

Here’s a mini exercise. Think about something you’ve been working on that hasn’t been working out for you. Now write down 3 ways that are different from what you are doing now that can possibly still get the same outcome. This can be in your business, career, relationship, or health, whatever. Don’t think too long about why it’s a problem, think about 3 different ways you will solve it.

Here’s an example. You want to lose weight and you’re having a hard time getting to the gym.

Here are some alternatives.

  1. Go on a diet instead and regulate your eating
  2. Get a personal trainer/coach to keep you accountable
  3. Find a fun class that you enjoy going to so there is no thought about working out

Good or good?

Tell us about what you wrote down…we want to hear from you!

If you’ve been trying to reach success, but haven’t yet achieved it, then I want to recommend a new solution for you.

The #1 Reason Why You’re Working Too Hard And Earning Too Little

artwork of world wonders with earth

We look at the Great Pyramids and wonder how they did that without today’s earth movers. The Great Wall of China is still being walked on over 2,000 years later, and they didn’t have metal cranes and tractors.

Luckily for us, business owners won’t have to go through the same kind of back-breaking work as the people who built these human wonders. when you’re starting out, though, the tasks you need to focus on can seem as daunting as building a monument.

In a way, you are. Your business is your legacy. It’s your obligation to oversee its construction. It’s equally important to know that you can’t do it alone, nor should you have to.

This is where the warrior cultivates the fine art of leverage. Leverage is the critical distinction between the people in this world who earn a moderate income and the people who earn massive income.

Leverage simply means doing more with less. The idea is to work smarter, not harder. Get more done – deliver more value with less of your time and energy. Replace yourself as much as possible.

You as a resource equals your time and energy. Most people work on a ratio of one to one. There’s a limit to that. The ones who make the most money are not the day to day workers. They are the creators and architects.

You want to use other people’s talents, skills, contacts, abilities and resources. Other people may be better than you at certain things. Do what you’re good at and let others do what you’re not good at.

For example selling products before you have them is a great form of leverage when starting a business. I did this with Fitness Land. I got money up front from customers then bought the machines. Suppliers want you to do well. I asked them to come in on the advertising before I had the equipment. They put up money for the adverts and I could get the equipment.

Creating a book, program, or technology idea and licensing it for royalties is a way you can leverage for passive income.

The best form of leverage is self-education. You learn certain things and develop yourself so you can put that knowledge into action, which is a huge step. You have to do something with it or else your knowledge is useless. If you’re highly educated and you don’t use what you’ve learned, you start to feel bad about yourself.

Cut out things you don’t enjoy so then you’ll be doing what you really love doing. Change the story about what’s available for you in your life, where you can be, how you play the game.

You only live once. You create your reality. Don’t do things because you think you have to and don’t live out of fear and obligation.

We don’t want you to at the end of your life say “I did what I had to do.” Life is too short for that. And that SUCKS.

If you’re not using leverage, you’re working too hard and earning too little. A lot of people may not think of themselves as creative, but leveraging means creatively maximizing what’s available to you.

What can you leverage? What are you “stuck” doing that you have to do at the moment? We want to hear from you!

Self-education is my favorite form of leverage.

And teaching you is one of my favorite things to do!

Here’s How You Can Become Part Of The Elite 2% That Reach High Levels Of Success

dirty hand holding a medal

Successful people do certain things. And these things don’t include watching television for four hours a day…sorry.

Sure, watching TV is entertainment, convenient, and nice; some of it is actually pretty good! But yes, there is sometimes too much of a “good” thing that cuts into quality time we could be putting into other things, and television is not the only thing I’m talking about here.

You say, “I work so hard all day. I deserve to come home and veg.” I won’t argue that. My next question is, “Well, okay, but do you want to be rich?

If you want above and beyond success, you have to do above and beyond work and be an above and beyond kind of person.

Very successful people don’t work eight hours a day and think, “I’m so tired.” That’s how 98% of people think. Imagine a warrior fighting for his or her life saying, “I fought my eight hours, I’m tired and I think I’m done for the day”. What happens? BOOM! They’re dead!

I know we don’t have to fight for our lives every day like a warrior, but to be an above and beyond kind of person and have extraordinary success, you have to take on the attitude of a warrior. Part of that is not wasting time on activities that aren’t really doing anything for your betterment, except “vegging” your mind.

Most people choose to focus more on doing other things important to them, like watching TV, or going out with friends every night, or online shopping, etc. That’s unproductive work.

Can you do some of that? Of course, and you should, but how important is that kind of habit, really? If you will do for the next three years what most people won’t do, then you will be able to do for the rest of your life what most people can’t do.

Everybody works eight hours a day. If I had worked eight hours a day when I was building my career, I’d be broke or close to it like most other people. I didn’t work eight hours a day. I happened to need to work 14 hours a day.

Remember, I’m in the seminar business. Seminars often start on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. You’re working 18 hours a day. You get six hours of sleep, maybe. And then you’re back at it again. You travel on Monday. Then you have to prepare for the next event. It’s nonstop.

I did that for over 15 years. Did I complain about it? Yes, of course! I complained as much as anybody else. I thought, “I never have time for anything.” But my energies overrode the pity party and I just kept chugging along.

Everything is energy. You think, “I want to be rich.” That’s great. There’s an energy heading that direction. However, there’s another part of you that thinks, “I want to relax and chill out. I like watching TV for three or four hours a day to wind down.” That’s another energy. There’s nothing wrong with that energy except for one little problem: those two energies conflict and go in opposite directions. One goes to success, the other to relaxation.

You must consciously make the decision and commit to your work full on. Maybe you’ll watch your favorite show two nights a week. Maybe instead of three or four nights a week, you’ll go out with your friends once or twice a week. The other nights are reserved for reading, studying, research, part-time writing, or whatever you need to do to start or grow a business. You have to make time for that stuff or else you’ll stay stuck in the same position.

To have more, you need to do more, especially at the beginning. You’ll need to do way more than you thought you needed to do to be successful.

To be extremely successful, you’re going to have to put an extreme amount of energy into it. Part of that energy is going to be making sure that what you’re doing is working. Then the new part of that energy is going to have to be to systemize what you’re doing so that it works without you.

What is one habit that you need to release in your life and replace with another habit that’s much more effective and productive for your success?

For Your Freedom,

Why Accepting Yourself As You Are Is One Of The Biggest Secrets To Happiness

love life tattoo on woman

When someone believes they’re not enough, a really good analogy for that is like putting legs on a snake. The snake is naturally a snake. It’s built to be what it is and do what it does, and it’s very good at moving around without legs.

What if you didn’t have to add anything to yourself? I’m certainly not talking about adding stuff like knowledge, which can be useful, or even material things. If you’ve always wanted a certain sports car for whatever reason, go for it!

But if you need that car in order to feel a certain way–rich, accomplished, successful, attractive, etc., then we’re talking about an add-on that doesn’t change a freakin thing. If you didn’t feel good enough about yourself before, a car or houses or money or even better looks won’t change that either now. This idea of adding on in order to feel or appear better just doesn’t work in the long-term.

There must be an inherent belief for you to feel like you need to add something to yourself in order to (fill-in-the-blank).

Whatever it is we’re talking about, we’d have to believe that what we’re adding to is not enough. There’s some real or perceived lack.

You might think, “Oh, Harv, that’s ridiculous, because if I didn’t try to add on to myself, then I wouldn’t be getting any better.”

The problem there is that we’ve been taught in our society that we’ve got to be better. Really? What is it that’s wrong with us that we need to be better?

Sure, it could be we want to have a stronger character, to be more reliable or dependable. There could be things that we want, thinking that if we’re better, then we’ll get more of those things.

I’m not saying that it’s not good to try to make yourself better, or that it’s not good to try and learn more and earn more.

It becomes a problem, though, when you’re not allowing yourself to experience the beauty of now–your beauty right now–because you’re so focused on “improvement” that you never feel accepted and good enough right now in this moment.

Practice accepting yourself as you are. If you’re a snake, enjoy being a snake. If you’re an alligator, and you’ve got scales and tough skin, enjoy being an alligator. If you’re a marshmallow, enjoy being a marshmallow. Look at the goodness in that first.

You have to accept what is. You have to accept who you are and make all the parts of you the gifts that they are, and then you can decide if you want to add anything else to your life, but without negating the first part, which is what we tend to do.

For your homework this week, I want you to write down one negative quality, supposedly, and something that’s not enough for you. Now that you’re enlightened, you’re not going to look at it as a negative.

Then you’re going to write down all the things that are positives and that can be useful around that quality.

If we’re a certain way, we’re going to be that way…and that’s okay.

You’re not going to make wholesale changes, anyway. You think you will, but you won’t. You might say, “Tomorrow I’m going to be like this.” Time has a way of pulling you back, because you’re not supposed to be anything other than who you are right now.

Accepting who you are now will allow you to look at things in a new light, then you can add, but you’re adding from a positive lens, kind of like “Okay, what can be even MORE awesome?” vs. “What do I need to do to make up for that deficiency?” See the difference?

You can go from light to brighter light instead of from darkness to trying to put some light into the darkness but you’re still kind of dingy.

This is who we are. You don’t need to be anything more than you already are right now. The goal never was and never is perfection, but we do need to lean toward the light.

What’s your story? Do you have any experiences with the teaching above? We want to hear from you!
